  • See the demonstration in our European factory of the highly efficient FlowDrya drying wet wood chip. Stronga have a wealth of experience in wood chip drying. Throughout the year, FlowDrya uses spare residual heat (e.g. CHP or green biomass boiler) for drying wet wood chip.
Designed for optimum energy efficiency, FlowDrya offers great value in the form of lowest cost per tonne dried. FlowDrya is a low energy wood chip drying machine, ensuring safe and efficient wood chip drying. FlowDrya can be fitted with optional equipment to maximise efficiency and productivity.
    The benefits of using FlowDrya for wood chip drying for bio energy include;
    • Making good use of spare residual heat throughout the year (CHP or biomass boiler capacity).
    • Significantly lowering wood chip handling, storage and transport costs. Increased wood fuel sales.
    • Spare wood utilisation possibilities (forestry trimmings & sawmill residue).
    • Substantial financial incentives from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme (UK only).
Discover the wood chip drying process in our European factory demonstration:
    1. Wet wood chip is loaded into the pre-mixing extended hopper to initiate evaporative wood chip drying. Optional extended hoppers can be fitted to maximise automation and minimise labour.
    2. Wet wood chip is delivered under an adjustable depth control weir gate onto the moving drying bed.
    3. On the moving wood chip drying bed, wood chip flows in a PulseWave mixing motion for a consistently uniform wood fuel dry output.
    4. A flux of warm drying quality air flows from Heatex, up through the ventilated moving wood chip drying bed and directly into the saturated wood chip. Wood chip dryness is controllable via the easy-to-operate control console, allowing the user to reduce moisture content for biomass boilers.
    5. Dry wood chip is discharged via optional onward conveying systems. Dry wood chip is eventually combusted in biomass boilers to produce renewable energy.
We recommend that clients in the following sectors consider Stronga wood chip drying equipment to add value while optimising waste heat utilisation:
    • Sawmills with wet wood chip to be converted into dry renewable fuel.
    • Estates with available wood to be chipped, dried and sold as renewable biomass boiler fuel.
    • Clients with waste wood who can increase their income working as a dry wood chip fuel supplier.

hi, I like this machine but I have some questions, how do you think which is better between this dryer and rotary dryer which is better efficiency for woodship. # thank you for a good video

Hi there, thanks for your message. This machine (the FlowDrya) is used to dry materials for different purposes. In this video the FlowDrya is demo'ed drying woodchip which can be used as a dry biomass boiler fuel. I hope that answers your questions?

Hi again, thanks for the swift reply. I was interested in the type of fuel feedstock that is combusted to produce the hot air which is used to dry the woodchips? Cheers

The hot air that is used to dry the woodchips is delivered to the FlowDrya by our Heatex which is a large heating coil with fans. Our customers are typically using waste heat from another process to heat the air in the Heatex (e.g. pyrolysis, syngas and biogas (CHP) etc.). Is that clear?
Below are links to our website which offers more information about our FlowDrya and Heatex...

Are you still selling these? Been unsuccessfully trying for 6 weeks to get a quote on this dryer to use in 3 projects we're developing. Do you not sell to Californian companies? Is there someone who can provide quotes and answers to project fit questions?
