Hey all. I'm from Canada and in the '60s skating was big up here. Not so much anymore. I've been watching a lot of these skate videos to see what's happening today with the styles and all. We had a lot of the same moves back then, up in Kitchener Ontario, believe it or not! What I don't see now is White folks. What's up with that?
Like u said, u are from Canada. This skating style is unique to Black Americans AND it’s not new to/for us. Does every Black American skate? No. However, for a large portion of us “skate night” is a tradition. Now, go ask White folks that ridiculous question, or go brush up on actual American history.

What music do the skaters hear, their rhythm is not in sync with......
With the rink music the production quality isn't as good, but to your point if someone style is based in musicality then watching them without the music they're skating to doesn't do them justice. It's a catch 22. Besides some of these people aren't as musical and they really don't skate to the rhythm of the song. 🤷🏿♂️
