    Very helpful for me as im a beginner conductor. Thanks for creating this channel. And i instantly have a question ie: Do i neccessarily need to extend the note for a fermata? Some said that it is to be extended when the fermata appear above a note. Is it necessarily a rule to extend the note? or Can i skip and sing the note as it is?

    • @MusicMinistry101
      @MusicMinistry101  Год назад +1

      If you see a fermata on a note, the composer wants that noted to be held longer. But that being said, there have been plenty of times in my career when I skipped a fermata intentionally

      @@MusicMinistry101 So if we skip, do we break any rules?

    • @MusicMinistry101
      @MusicMinistry101  Год назад +1

      @@jonawoln5095 It really depends on the context. You want to get the composer's intention across and the meaning of the music. Sometimes it works better without a fermata but 90 or 95% of the time you would observe the fermata since it was written

      @@MusicMinistry101 Alright thankyou so much. I doesn't mean to flatter you but i really need the opinion of the pros, so im reaching out to you. Thankyou very much for your response.
