Good video on the bulls nice to see how they are doing. Bro is out there getting things done to.The demo is very handy Father Phil was quiet today must have alot on his mind . see you in the next one hope the 6290 is on the video .
The Paus is a great bit of kit recon you should try to invest in one. I have a 1'32 diecast model of the Paus Swivel loader to go with my growing collection of Siku and Britains models.
Very interested in the cattle going to the factory and the difference in the breeds when killed great videos all the time your the best I watch on RUclips very down to earth family and yous are hard workers
Two very handy powerful machines for a bit of yard work Phil, great job. If you knew anyone with a kestrel or sparrow hawk, they'd make short work of those hoorin starlings. 👍🏼 Definetly like to see the first load of cattle heading off. 👍🏼

Well Phil started leasing 30ac last year with 50 calf’s and sold the lot a year later bought 40 this year and only have 27 now few months later did you ever have any trouble like that juts weak calfs
Yes I’ve seen lots of trouble with them over the years. Was it something in particular that was wrong and when did it start happening. The more you tell me the more I might be able to help
What do you reckon would be the best bedding after milled peat? Is wood chips common over there? Or is Straw the most common type? Do you notice some difference in straw from wheat or barley, or other kinds of straw? :)
Haven’t used anything other than milled peat or straw. Very little wood chip used here but we’re thinking of using it to bed the calves this year coming
Why don’t you get a bobcat on demo lot better for cleaning them low roof sheds, you’re still limited to what the Paus can do brilliant for loading the trailer. 👍👍
Hello… yes I’d like to see how ye got on in factory with bulls…. And what factory ye went to… ABP…. the bolix (just saying support local… the small falla😁) on the loader point of view…….. you need to buy it…… IF justifiable…… for it’s accessibly over yer small JCB.. or mainly because I love it 😂😂 also because it reminds me of a Atlas loader from years ago!!!
that paus loader would struggle on the pit ..........they are not built for work like that ........the exposed drive shaft would get silage wrapped around it if the chop was long like wagon or duble chop .........had to put a belly pan on a 412 jcb to stop the grass from wrapping around the drive shafts .......
FARMER PHIL You want a Dry Sand which is a blend that contains few fine sand particles (they cause compaction, stick to the cow and do not allow for drainage). You also do not want any large stones/particles. Mason Sand is suitable, but Ideally a certified Concrete Sand is better as it has less fines than mason sand, so it will promote quick drainage of liquids. Contact your local Quarry and they can make exactly what you want. It should work out at about 10-12 euro per ton.
What will them jex bulls kill out? 280kg average? Not the fr, the jex. Thousand euros each, does it really pay to have them over good fr bulls? You'd buy runner fr bulls cheaper than raring them so I can't see why you would bother with the jex?
Like this comment if you want to see the 1st load of bulls away to the factory
U ever tried sand for beddin?
no never
Sawdust??
Luke have you an experience? How is it in comparison to straw/peat? Is it a particular type of sand?
Thought sand might have issues with feet long term? Probably not an issue in a finishing unit.
Definitely show the boys heading to the factory and the analysis
100%
Definitely show the bull's phill

Know you don’t get snow like we do in Wisconsin but what works great for pushing feed is a straight snowplow blade setup at an angle.
Great video Phil I seeing the bulls heading to the factory would be great 👍
Yes that would be a grate video. The first load out is a must see!

A massive difference to the bulls with the peat. Them bulls are in good form and will be thriving again in no time

if you us dung spreader to spared the straw would it be faster than the straw blower.
Dung spreader wouldn’t do that good a job at it
I find with the peat and the chopped straw, you need to put in 12 to 18 inches at a time, cattle spotless and use far less. It lasts forever.
I like that loader be great to see video on cattle your killing and figures from calf to beef

What is it that the starlings do? And is it the banger that stops the cattle?
Starlings shit all over the feed and it really puts cattle off eating, for obvious reasons. The banger is to scare the starlings away
Will you be adding the slurry additive this time
Yes and we have it in the tank working away

Why not have all slatted heads a lot less work
We’ve very little soil around the yard and lots of rock so it’s not a viable option that’s why we only have to small tanks
