You should do an episode of the ghost town Portlock, Alaska, that allegedly was completely abandoned in a haste sometime in the 1950’s due to a series of unsolved murders and disappearances…
Actually it's believed the village was consecutively attack by a sasquatch...
@@TorturedMongoose2003 Perhaps it was.
@@TorturedMongoose2003wrong! It's already been proven it was the lockness monster
@@kerryprice1414 are you high...
While I love Ryan and Shane, I like how this channel is trying so many different formats with different people! The variety is good :)
I miss Ryan and Shane... 😔
@@hisssman They have their own channel, go watch them there
@@WhyMe4747 What's it called?
@@tresto1332 'Watcher'
They should have continued with those two girls where doing stories about the woods
I like this format, but i would recommend to put Dominique in a big leather chair slightly turned to one side while resting one leg on the other in a wooden detective library room with a firepit on for more aesthetic and cinematic lighting. Standing in front of a white wall is a bit bland. I think putting her in a themed room will increase the satisfaction for the viewer.
omg a genderbent sherlock type feel. i love it.
Yeah I agree like the fire pit going will make it feel like I’m back at camp hearing ghost stories by the fireplace
The wall is fine she’s just too close to the camera lol
@@AJ-hs2ld that is something i was thinking about too, but if the camera goes back a bit, there will be a lot of white all around her. If she's in a themed room, that wouldn't be a problem. A bit of sliding camera movement couldn't hurt either. If that gets out of budget, they could place two filming camera's in different angles and switch between them while editing when the screen is not showing her. Then you don't need a camera man/sliding rig.
Yeah the white wall is a bit jarring and the camera is too close to her.
This is great! The narrator has done podcasts for the CBC before and they’re great
Ahhh, I knew I recognized that voice from somewhere!
It’s insane to think that once the Canadians no longer saw a use for the natives unique traits that it was then they decided to subject them to neo-colonialism
You mean English
Please cover more about the Residential Schools of Canada. More and more bodies are being discovered all the time.
Love this! I appreciate the subtly creepy narration style, and especially the debunking research and respect for the peoples involved. I hope Haunting History continues long-term, I'm here for it!
Dominique has such a great voice for narration! Thanks for sharing this interesting tale. Love a historical connection.
Thank you.
Wonderfully narrated and respectfully done. Well done to the team.
Inuit: live successfully in the Arctic, one of the most extreme regions on earth. European immigrants: we need to teach them our superior ways.
“We will teach the world our peace ways. By force!”-Some British or French Monarch probably
😅 Thank you for this comment as an Inuit I approve lol
Love this comment, we were better off without colonization 😔
true
What an intetesting story! Enjoyed learning about this story, its origin, and more info about the history of the Inuit people it was based on. Good work
Her voice is so relaxing 💖
Please cover the legend of Sawney Bean! It's an old Scottish folk tale about a group of cannibals living in caves and robbing passers-by. It inspired the horror franchise The Hills Have Eyes, so could be a very interesting Haunting History episode! :)
wait, that was definitely referenced in Attack on Titan. this blows my mind lmao
Inuit representation, thank you from an inuk :)
Inuit urban legends are something to cover too they’re quite spooky
While Shane and Ryan are gone you don’t need to insult other peoples work by saying lI wish” or this is “their channel” it’s not. If you want to watch them go to their channel and move on with life.
Yes and this video is actually interesting
agree 💯
As always, adore Dominique. Funny that I caught the association to Roanoke and almost commented about it before it was discussed in the video.
so grateful for the respect and intentionality put into the writing here, especially in the naming of uncomfortable truths (like neocolonialism). thanks to the team
Amazingly narrated, Dominique! Such vanishing stories are so enticing!
Thank you.
Haunting history is the reason I keep coming back to the channel. Fantastic story telling, Dominique!
Thank you.
Rule number 1. Never talk about fight club
Rule number 2. Never ask the Canadian government what happened to the natives
What natives? The disappearance of the tribe is fake. It never even happened. The one who made this uo uses information that could not happen at the time. It's not real.
I hope people realize "while I love Ryan and Shane this video is still good" comments are kinda backhanded compliments
i'm just inlove with the narration. 😍 her voice is so gooooodd..
thank you!
Thanks, Dominique!
You're welcome.
Good and respectful narration.
It makes me sad that to show Inuits and how we lived you have to show footage and pictures from so long ago. We still exist but we've been severely displaced and handicapped.
This was a great story, I'd never heard it! Thanks Dominique!
I'm loving this series and the narrators!
Aw poor Husky dogs 🥺 my heart ❤️🩹
You’re sad about what happened to the dogs but not what happened to the people? Typical…
@Prn 97 white people and people who uphold white supremacy care about animals more than they care about Black and Indigenous people of colour. This is why you can’t be trusted. The bleach stain on a perfectly good world.
I didn't know about this event, thank you for sharing, I loved the way she narrated it.
I really like this host! No offense to the other new ones you’ve tried but i really like her style and her voice. Her narration is beautiful and so easy to understand.
I’ve heard of this horror story over the years since 1930
You've been alive since 1930?
I think it's common knowledge that the colony in Roanoke went with the Croatian tribe. They found artifacts proving this
What an excellent video. Fascinating.
You do a great job. Hope to see more.
Woah oh my goodness thank you guys for even mentioning native Americans/ indigenous. I love my people's story being shared. I'm actually Inupiat (but born in the city.)
Dyatlov pass incident would be a good one to cover
Very well done ! What’s your take on Portlock ?
People will scatter fast when threats abound🐽
This didn't even happen. It's a hoax story.
I like this series!!
Pls do one about abandoned coastal village of Portlock, Alaska. I haven't seen a detailed video of it yet
Shane and Ryan's fans are making me dislike Shane and Ryan.
as someone who’s been massive fan of theirs for years, i’m literally so goddamn embarrassed every time i open the comments on this channel
Same. I’m waiting for them to make a video addressing this issue. I wouldn’t be surprised.
I'm convinced they are all 7-12 yr olds bc who tf whines this much?!?
Sounds like LaBelle heard the story of Roanoke and got inspired to tell his own
Have you done a video of Chaco Canyon?
The fact that Labelle had only acquired his license that season doesn't mean much. He may have been hunting and trapping for years without a license.
They were forced to the Inuit to live that far up north
Dear host, you may not be the Shane & Ryan we love… but I’d love for you to stay around! Great job.
Inuit are known to rotate camps for responsible hunting reasons but it doesn't explain leaving starving dogs. That makes it seem like something bad happened.
I’ve done research on lake anjikuni
Joe was a colorful storyteller, nothing more! The story is not true.
Anyone know where the town of Paw is? If its in Canada, tell me location
I’m part inuk, I’m from the community Iqaluit.😊
How's about looking into a little known story at Pontefract Castle? Saint Thomas of Lancaster and the miraculous healing that would occur at the site of his execution
I would like to suggest looking into the legend of Two Lovers Point on Guam :)
who (in full detail) is Emmett E Kelleher and where is the town of Paw? i cant search it in the internet
What gets into peoples heads to convince them to live in desolate places?
Damn a entire village of my people wanted missing
No, this is a fake story. Never happened.
Living for Dominique frankly
Thank you
Look into The White Lady of Spring Canyon, Utah.
In Canada And The USA(Alaska) the Eskimos(Yupiks And Inuits) had some skirmishes and tug of wars with Aleuts, Amerindians, Eastern Europeans, Western Europeans, And Alaskan Creoles yeah.
I was dreaming for about five or six nights straight that I was Inuit. I don't know why cause I'm culturally not at all and didn't know much about Inuit culture. The dreams inspired me to do some dna admixture testing for fun. Funnily enough, at least with my brother's dna, there turned out to be some possible Inuit traces. The dreams stopped but then I was thinking about it just a little while ago and lo and behold, I came across this video. Weird.
Somebody just liked this comment yesterday/today and last night I dreamt a man took me to an igloo. I said to him. "Wow, I've never been in an igloo before." Then I looked down at my feet and I had no shoes on but he did. I knew I would start to freeze that way and it woke me up.
So yea, the strangeness continues.
Nice.
It is like Alien vs Preadator opening scene
Merry Squatchmas !!!!! From Nan
Please can explain the legend of count st of germain, new Orleans`s vampire and brother Carter even casket girl.
Y’all should cover the legend of the Singing River in Pascagoula, Ms! Would love to know how much of it is based on facts!
Hey wasn’t there like a famous Alien abduction that took place there in 1973?
@@mysteryjunkie9808 oh yea there was!! How did I not think to mention that too 🤣🤣
these videos are crack, keep lining them up :)
Great video. Roanoke isn’t much of a mystery either. When Governor John White, Virginia Dare’s grandfather on her mother’s side finally got back to the site of the settlement, he & the supply party instantly recognized the messages that they’d fled to Croatoan with the friendly tribe to save their lives from a hostile tribe. But there was a Spanish war ship nearby so going there could give away the location of the colonists which the Spanish might have been tempted to massacre the colonists to stop British claims of being entitled to colonize the region. DNA testing has proven that ppl still living in that part of North Carolina today share DNA with at least one of the colonists. Scott Dawson & many others have worked on several excavations that have produced amazing artifacts.
Please at least acknowledge that the Inuit nations were forcefully assimilated into western society using the residential schooling system, many consider the act to be a genocide to Indigenous people in Canada. They still struggle today with oppressive systems and a never ending socio-economic gap. Don't paint it to be pretty when it's the opposite. Sincerely: an Indigenous person from Canada :)
Atleast "Dyatlov pass" was a real paranormal murder seen
Buzzfeed is back to Cleveland Browns status.
Please tell us about this story and your versions!
The disappearance of the sailors of the St. Paul is the mysterious disappearance of fifteen Russian sailors of the packet ship St. Paul, who landed on the coast of North America in 1741.
I am this (0:49) far in, and I already know it was aliens.
it's Indigenous people's history month, right? Thanks for doing this story!
Yes, a story that never happened about indigenous people on a day about them. Makes sense.
nomadic lifestyle is totally not the reason they "disappeared"
Stop calling them English “settlers.”
Please tell me the two starving dogs that were still alive got adopted into a good family..
🤔🤔
No worries, the story was fake
Russia should restore the Monarchy.
They didnt "Disappear" out of no where, it was Genocide and we all know who did it
Wait what, this might not be real!?
Yea... no, this never actually happened and has thoroughly been shown to have been pure fiction.
Hi Dominique I’m Dominique 😭😊
Hi!
It’s not Pas, it’s THE PAS.
Omfg enough coverage of Roanoke already.
after digging maybe.
Your voice sounds familiar. Perhaps still providing facts just in a different light? I doubt anyone would remember. But i will say one thing, we miss you.
i want to support the mexican an the white dude!!!!!!!! they need more EP.
"Joe LaBelle's story was unsettling,
And hair-raising...
(SPOILER)
And a pile of crap from a white guy trying to get a payday"
Definite zombie apocalypse
At 1:36, did you mean the town of THE Pas? I had to check the transcript and it says "the town of Paw" which is just so laughably wrong. But yeah, the town is called The Pas, the "The" is a part of it.
Diculik dilarikan ke Kota Saranjana, Konoha
Hey, you! Host more.
Sure gove did this like usa erase the red Indians
aliens
Ben affleck?
Creepy
mystery solved it was the europeans..
So did he make it up?
I think so, from what I read on the internet this story has no concrete explanations to why they disappeared from the camp
Or destroyed by the crow Indians hmm
Your voice kills with the so-called facts the whole mystery of this story, and at the same time, it is terrifying. Have you thought about starting your own secret sect?
Canadian goverment
