Not sure why anyone said to braid and band every day - that's for wash day. Sisterlocs are done by a certified loctician with a very specific grid that results in a certain number. Microlocs can be started with interlocs, braids or twists and the numbers vary depending on who installed and how many the person wanted. Your hair looks great. I'll be restarting my set again soon. I'm tempted to try to palm roll but from my first set I know I'll need to interloc - my hair is too soft to hold onto the palm roll. Thank you for sharing your journey!
I think I’m going to decide to stick with interlocking unless I end up combining them later on. My hair seems to be growing really fast and it’s looking like I’ll have to retie every 5-7 weeks. My ideal regimen is wash once a week and retie every 7 weeks.

I only braided and band when I washed my locs. I didn't know about doing it nightly and my locs was fine without doing it (no bunching). I guess it depends on your hair. I love your locs and the color 😍!
I’ve watched several diy micolocs and still can do them! So frustrating but I’m going to figure out how to do it. I’ve been practicing nonstop a mannequin head 😂

Are your roots box braids then twist the rest of the way down
No it’s twisted all the way down. A week after installing, I washed and finger coiled the roots
Looks good. Smart choice on using less products that way you won’t have a problem with buildup. Water and oil is more than enough. LOL
