Surprised they didn’t go Traction for this install and for the number of floors. Wonder if they’ll go MRL Traction if/when the building owners decide to modernize

Just like that 10 Story ThyssenKrupp Impulse HIGHDRAULIC in Seattle with the same motor pitch!!

That’s what I’m thinking. I wonder if they have the same power unit. I’ve always wanted to see the machine rooms for these elevator’s

Sure did not maintain them, are in terrible condition, one out of service. The grinding noise from the machine room, sounds like the pump impeller is spinning against the housing. With the strong smell of oil, maybe the source of the leakage of both.

No they do, they refil them every two weeks sometimes every week I’m not kidding it’s bc these are very leaky

@@QEElevators it’s too bad these elevators leak and go through a lot of oil. These elevators remind me of the former Chewbacca elevators at Roosevelt mall and when CVE9120 filmed the machine room showing not only where and how far it was, but also how the machines horrifically leaked oil, caught fire, and how overworked those motors were in simply getting oil to the jacks from such a distance. I don’t know why the builders/architects who built/designed the building in this video used a hydraulic system for an 8 floor building, but they really should’ve went with Traction elevators. Although the machine room for these elevators probably isn’t far away from the elevators, it’s obvious these elevators are overworked with having to serve 8 floors, and merely getting that oil pumped for that height is likely why they leak, have worn/grinding pumps, and need their oil topped off so frequently. I don’t know how heavily used these elevators are, but I’m surprised these haven’t (yet) caught fire due to their use and leaking of hydraulic oil, but still a fire hazard nonetheless. I unfortunately see these elevators getting tagged and shut down for environmental and safety reasons, and one day replaced with a Traction MRL drive.

@@wns808 issue is for these it’s probably a seal in the jack. These are the machines Dover used on the 10 floor hydro in Seattle so I believe they have the biggest oil tank Dover makes. The motor room is right behind these
