I love these guys! Been clean 8 months from opiates and haven't been in a serious relationship for almost 3 years. Co- dependency and drug addiction are absolutely horrible. The intensity of this song brings back memories of just how far I would go for addiction. The pain radiates through the lyrics. If you ever want to feel like you have everything and nothing concurrently with one another, walk the path of an addict. I never want to go back to that darkness again, so I will continue to listen to these songs to remind me how seductive addiction can be. Life is much more beautiful on the outside looking in, than being inside unaware anything else exists.

Never give up, I honestly could say the time before I got clean I was at the darkest part of my near decade long addiction and for some reason during my last attempt things changed and I wanted to live again. It’s impossible to say when it might work, so just keep fighting! I wish you the best.

I still can't do with with medical help..I always leave the rehab the second day...I hate to say it but I've never been to jail but j think that may be my only option is to goto jail and be forced

I've never been addicted to heroin and props to everyone in this comment section saying the used to be and are clean. But I have been addicted to the love and abuse of a toxic girlfriend and this song hits every emotion and thing I did in that relationship from finding out about the cheating, to trying to run from her, to fantasizing about her and the other guy, to running back to start the hurt all over again. Amazing song, that it can be both a metaphor for a toxic relationship or for drug addiction and connect with people in both categories is incredible.

It makes you feel like shit and you can’t relate to those songs and movies where they show them quitting because you haven’t been able to. I have seen Badflower a few times! A couple times at festivals and once at a much more intimate venue (full capacity is 1,000). My daughter & I were on the floor ( 2 rows back from the stage) He spoke of their song "Heroin" and continued to state it is a hard song for him to get thru. He was beautiful.🖤 The emotion on his face & the struggle at times for him to get thru the lyrics without his voice breaking up here and there was a very raw & unforgettable moment. At one point he turned his back to the crowd. I am assuming he was trying to regain his composure. There was so much beauty in the "tragedy " of that song. I will NEVER forget it!🖤☠️🖤

It's not easy..I sadly still am suffering from a heroin addiction.. I know 32 people that have died in the last 3 years alone.. its ruined my life.. we literally don't want to do it but like u said it changes our brain chemistry. And sadly there's no real good detoxes anymore.. sorry for your loss tho..just understand he didn't want that addiction.. I wouldn't wish it on anyone
It's the best and the worst. Sadly you can't just quit. You'll get sicker than the flu. Insomnia. It's brutal. And one easy way to stop it is to do it. It can last two weeks or longer without help. Most people can't just cold turkey it.
Finally metal and rock bands are starting to get some new good bands. For how much I listen to music and even with how much music I have. Theres still not enough new good music, but they are starting to come around lol

There's never been a song that so deeply connected with me the instant I heard it play for the first time. 30 years old, been divorced for two years now. Addicted for almost 10 years, been practicing sobriety for the last three, last relapsed eight months ago but clean now, this song hit me so hard on so many levels in a way I never thought a song could, I actually teared up listening to it. That abusive relationship with the needle hurt me so bad, she destroyed my marriage, and yet there was something still sickly beautiful about her. She was the only thing that comforted me in that painful time. She filled up an emptiness in my heart that I still haven't been able to fill since. I never want to go back to her, but I'm thankful for the time we had together, the good and the bad, and how much my experience with her helped me grow as a person since. This song brought back together all those memories and feelings of things lost and left behind for just a moment. Just enough time for me to say goodbye to her one last time before I move on from it all. I needed that.

Congrats bro. I've been clean almost 3 years now, but been on suboxone ever since. I've tried getting clean without out several times and always relapse.
When I went threw detox for the first and last time we kept a journal and my entry about heroin was this: Heroin is my wife. I love her and need her in my life every day. Cocaine is like a side chick, I love her as well but I don't see her all the time. Xanax is like a crazy ex gf that I still go back and see every once in awhile to see how she's doing even tho she's toxic and being with her and my wife at the same time could be deadly. On very rare occasions I'd see all 3 at the same time and it was my favorite thing because I loved all 3, but it usually ended in disaster. This song is spot on and made me think back on this. Almost 4 months clean today!
This was clearly the best rock song of 2019, arguably of the decade. It's 2022....I just recently discovered these guys .......I absolutely love them. This song is so deep. My most favorite way to listen to this particular song is, earbuds in and turned up all the way and alone in the dark. His voice is like a drug for me. Believe it or not, our bodies can become addicted to how a person makes us feel even without the extra chemicals. Our brains produce some of the most addictive chemicals our bodies respond to & crave! And yeah, it’s probably like heroine. Never had it only withdrawals from a toxic person. It was pure hell! But, sugar, beating both is a huge sign of your character outgrowing both which are very toxic! I applaud you effort & sobriety!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻 Oh! deftones 456 thank you! I also like a lot of underground music! I was always the one who’d love the side B of albums, lol! Music is my greatest addiction! People not so much. I, too nearly ended my life over the end of a long term marriage. Honestly, when I look back, it was more to end the emotional damage & pain. But once the blinder came off & I accepted all, I took control away from him & the empowerment was total BLISS! A new high is been denied for so very long! To now have control of myself, my independence, & perceptions back put me back on track for learning what I needed to from the whole experience. I now mentor young people finding their way out of such toxic relationships. It’s been very therapeutic as a huge bonus!

coming here 5 years later to add my own interpretation.. never been addicted to heroin but this song always reminds me of someone i used to love, but was never in an exclusive relationship with. i was young and wanted to be free, and he was fine with it, yet we spent a lot of time together and had a lot of deep conversations. he knew i was seeing other people and i knew how much he was hurting, but neither of us could change. he would ask me to tell him in detail about my sexual exploits with other people because it turned him on, he would tell me he loved me and do romantic stuff, but then on other days he would endlessly berate me and call me names, despite our fwb situationship being clear and him not wanting to go exclusive either.. yet i still kept loving him and going back too. we were both really rational people but that dynamic was such a weird mess.. still don't know to this day what he wanted or why i kept it up either.. this video is genuinely so accurate for that specific chaotic type of relationship. i think where the drug relates to the relationship is the pleasure, when you feel good, you feel loved, and then you start analysing it and overthinking qnd nothing nakes sense.. there's joy, love, then craving, missing, then jealousy, then self-doubt, then anger and hate, then depression, until you're back in their arms and you feel good and loved again and wonder how that can be when it's all so wrong.. that's the addiction.. like the way she was kissing him all over, i used to do the same. i genuinely adored him, loved everything about him, loved him as he was, and he felt the same, but that love was also really painful for us both. he wanted me to be free and be me and loved me for being a "fox" just as much as he hated me for it. maybe he was masochistic. i wanted to make him smile and for him to stop hurting me with his words, he slept with other girls too but i never felt jealous, i was happy for him whenever others fell in love with him too, because he was amazing, but he wanted me to get angry and posessive.. i couldn't help not having that reaction, and it hurt me because it was unfair, but i understood what he was feeling too. ugh it was such a mess. he eventually decided to end things between us, and it was the healthy thing to do. we never tried to change love to hate or make each other the bad guy, just accepted that we loved each other but were just not good for each other. we both walked out depressed and feeling like we were trash, despite of all the love. i don't even know what the right answer is here since we were always honest and in agreement, it's not like we ever tried to lie and hide, there was never any misunderstandings, there was never any intention to hurt each other or take some kind of revenge. i don't regret meeting and loving him and neither does he.. this song just makes me think about him too much.

It's not easy..I sadly still am suffering from a heroin addiction.. I know 32 people that have died in the last 3 years alone.. its ruined my life.. we literally don't want to do it but like u said it changes our brain chemistry. And sadly there's no real good detoxes anymore.. sorry for your loss tho..just understand he didn't want that addiction.. I wouldn't wish it on anyone

It's the best and the worst. Sadly you can't just quit. You'll get sicker than the flu. Insomnia. It's brutal. And one easy way to stop it is to do it. It can last two weeks or longer without help. Most people can't just cold turkey it.

There's never been a song that so deeply connected with me the instant I heard it play for the first time. 30 years old, been divorced for two years now. Addicted for almost 10 years, been practicing sobriety for the last three, last relapsed eight months ago but clean now, this song hit me so hard on so many levels in a way I never thought a song could, I actually teared up listening to it.
That abusive relationship with the needle hurt me so bad, she destroyed my marriage, and yet there was something still sickly beautiful about her. She was the only thing that comforted me in that painful time. She filled up an emptiness in my heart that I still haven't been able to fill since. I never want to go back to her, but I'm thankful for the time we had together, the good and the bad, and how much my experience with her helped me grow as a person since. This song brought back together all those memories and feelings of things lost and left behind for just a moment. Just enough time for me to say goodbye to her one last time before I move on from it all. I needed that.

When I went threw detox for the first and last time we kept a journal and my entry about heroin was this:
Heroin is my wife. I love her and need her in my life every day. Cocaine is like a side chick, I love her as well but I don't see her all the time. Xanax is like a crazy ex gf that I still go back and see every once in awhile to see how she's doing even tho she's toxic and being with her and my wife at the same time could be deadly. On very rare occasions I'd see all 3 at the same time and it was my favorite thing because I loved all 3, but it usually ended in disaster.

My most favorite way to listen to this particular song is, earbuds in and turned up all the way and alone in the dark. His voice is like a drug for me. I love it so much and this song is amazing.....just excellent. So happy I found them.

Believe it or not, our bodies can become addicted to how a person makes us feel even without the extra chemicals. Our brains produce some of the most addictive chemicals our bodies respond to & crave! And yeah, it’s probably like heroine. Never had it only withdrawals from a toxic person. It was pure hell! But, sugar, beating both is a huge sign of your character outgrowing both which are very toxic! I applaud you effort & sobriety!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻

I, too nearly ended my life over the end of a long term marriage. Honestly, when I look back, it was more to end the emotional damage & pain. But once the blinder came off & I accepted all, I took control away from him & the empowerment was total BLISS! A new high is been denied for so very long! To now have control of myself, my independence, & perceptions back put me back on track for learning what I needed to from the whole experience. I now mentor young people finding their way out of such toxic relationships. It’s been very therapeutic as a huge bonus!

coming here 5 years later to add my own interpretation.. never been addicted to heroin but this song always reminds me of someone i used to love, but was never in an exclusive relationship with. i was young and wanted to be free, and he was fine with it, yet we spent a lot of time together and had a lot of deep conversations. he knew i was seeing other people and i knew how much he was hurting, but neither of us could change. he would ask me to tell him in detail about my sexual exploits with other people because it turned him on, he would tell me he loved me and do romantic stuff, but then on other days he would endlessly berate me and call me names, despite our fwb situationship being clear and him not wanting to go exclusive either.. yet i still kept loving him and going back too. we were both really rational people but that dynamic was such a weird mess.. still don't know to this day what he wanted or why i kept it up either.. this video is genuinely so accurate for that specific chaotic type of relationship. i think where the drug relates to the relationship is the pleasure, when you feel good, you feel loved, and then you start analysing it and overthinking qnd nothing nakes sense.. there's joy, love, then craving, missing, then jealousy, then self-doubt, then anger and hate, then depression, until you're back in their arms and you feel good and loved again and wonder how that can be when it's all so wrong.. that's the addiction.. like the way she was kissing him all over, i used to do the same. i genuinely adored him, loved everything about him, loved him as he was, and he felt the same, but that love was also really painful for us both. he wanted me to be free and be me and loved me for being a "fox" just as much as he hated me for it. maybe he was masochistic. i wanted to make him smile and for him to stop hurting me with his words, he slept with other girls too but i never felt jealous, i was happy for him whenever others fell in love with him too, because he was amazing, but he wanted me to get angry and posessive.. i couldn't help not having that reaction, and it hurt me because it was unfair, but i understood what he was feeling too. ugh it was such a mess. he eventually decided to end things between us, and it was the healthy thing to do. we never tried to change love to hate or make each other the bad guy, just accepted that we loved each other but were just not good for each other. we both walked out depressed and feeling like we were trash, despite of all the love. i don't even know what the right answer is here since we were always honest and in agreement, it's not like we ever tried to lie and hide, there was never any misunderstandings, there was never any intention to hurt each other or take some kind of revenge. i don't regret meeting and loving him and neither does he.. this song just makes me think about him too much.
