This J Frame has been my EDC (Every Day Carry) for a few months now. Decided to give it a review and tell you why it’s the best revolver that you can carry for concealed self protection.
Absolutely fantastic pocket cannon this is my EDC and is truly a life saver in need of an emergency situation arises I love my 340 pd it’s definitely a life saver get yours today
When friends ask about the recoil, I say "...have you ever had a firecracker Go off in your hand? That's what it feels like...minus the flash burn..". True statement! 👍
I want this revolver in my stocking this year. I tried one at my local range this week, man, you aren't lying about the trigger. It is very sweet. Good review.
Its truly a gun for someone who doesnt want to carry a big ass hand cannon all the time. I still carry my 1911 but in a bag. The snub is on my person most of the time.
Tom: Same and same! I’ve been considering this gun to replace the 638 only for the weight savings. I would not shoot 357 Magnum but would continue with 38 special.
I own & carry the same pistol . I sent mine to S&W Performance Center for their trigger job a few years ago . I also replaced the original grip with a Crimson Trace green laser pachmeyer grip . Very light to carry in the TheisHolster that I use . One of two that are usually on me . Reasonably accurate , trigger pull is nice for a revolver this light . 357 will bite when shooting .
I was very surprised at how good this trigger pull was out of the box. I've staged the trigger and hit targets out to 50 yards with it. That's impressive accuracy with a J Frame. It's definitely a handful to shoot!lol Not for the recoil sensitive people. Thanks for watching my video.
I pocket carry a no lock 340PD but load it w/+P for faster & more accurate follow up shots. One speed strip serves as a reload w/two speed loaders in the center console of my car.
Try one of those Pachmayr Guardian Grips and see how you like the extra pop out finger groove. Just wish I’d thought of it. Makes controlling it so much easier www.lymanproducts.com/brands/pachmayr/handgun-grips/revolver-grips/guardian-griptm
Great reveiw..alit of mostly kids shit on the snub revolver especially in 357 but it's a great choice for most situations.. I like the trigger for safety reasons and up close it's not gna b a factor... it wont ever be a bad option

For over 40 years I have confidently and comfortably carried a J frame 38. I started with a model 60 and I am currently carrying my model 442.
Retired LEO here, I carry the 340 PD and also the 386 PD, love them both. I went to scandium so they wont pull my pants down!!
Great review. I think I cried the first time I shot mags out of my PD….and the second and third times.

It’s not that bad!lol Of course the Guardian grip helps with the felt recoil.

S&W hit a home run with the 340PD. Hope Santa brings you one!

@@jamescurrry7868 I have one of those too! 3" 7shot L-frame. Goes with me when hunting as backup bear/cougar medicine ;)
HEY BRAD! Enjoyed watching your video brother!
My usual CC is a S&W J Frame 38 Special 638. Usually carry in front pocket. Thanks for sharing!

I carry a 360sc, nothing better than a light j frame, carry all day and believe in it !!
I carry the same revolver. I am going to go to a .38 special round.
I’ve found Hogue tamer grips really help with recoil.

I carry the same gun with the same round. It’s my “get the hell off me” gun!
I bet it would work too!
I carry a 386
Carried great but is a hand breaker for sure.
Those Pachmayr Guardian grips help.
