I was a pan India solo traveler with my fav region being North East India until the pandemic changed things for me. Today, someone I know left for a tour to the very places you had been to, and I told him before and many times learn to travel by your own and the experiences you get therefrom is like no other, and enriching. But anyway, I am shocked that given your content on this vlog as first impression you have comparatively very few subscribers. I only wished I listened to a friend who urged me to have a travel channel back then, but alas I was only into photography. Hostel is kind of good. Zostel elsewhere are definitely any day better but considering it is the only hostel in Srinagar, can't complain. I had a pretty decent experience. Location is good. Property is good too. For the price, it's a good option. I'll only recommend zostel if you're a solo or budget traveller. So if you're a group of 2-3 people or more, better stay at a houseboat or a guest house with the dal lake view.
I'm not sure about the heaters but they definitely have a heating system in houseboats which is called "Bukhari". Usually, they also provide heating blankets during peak winters. However, there is no need of heaters until Sept-Oct. You will get heaters in Zostel during Winters.

Hey Vivan! The roads are pretty smooth and wide except for a few rough patches on Jammu-Srinagar Highway due to the ongoing constructions. Road to gulmarg, sonmarg and pahalgam is really good. You won't face any issues. You can definitely go for it if youre comfortable riding a scooty. Just make sure you check the weather beforehand. Good luck :)

Cabs are expensive (2500-3000) per day. If you're traveling in group then taking a cab is a better option. If you're solo, try staying at a hostel or local home stay. But you can easily do it under 10k (Jammu to Jammu) by simply opting for local transport and cheaper hotels because stay and Transportation are the only two major expense here.
