God bless this guy. War is hell. It’s hard for me to believe that he went through such traumatic events and can speak so frankly about it without overwhelming anxiety. I’m telling you, kids are coddled too much these days and men were cut from a different cloth back then. Respect to this guy who is so sweet and genuine even after all of that. Our society is screwed

Legend right there survived 100ft of hell, 1000000 land mines and pinned down by 2 m.guns and the worst part of his day was he couldn't have a smoke because his matches were wet. Absolute bloody legend.

@Loanoka Harbor until we make it mandatory in schools that these interviews be shown and taught. These absolutely should be mandatory. If kids were shown these videos, we wouldn't have a bunch of pansy ass pussies crying about how bad they THINK they have it.

Listened to this gentlemans story on the Jocko podcast maybe a year or two ago? I listened to the entire episode without interruption. My great uncle Frank was one of the first casualties evacuated back to a field hospital off of Utah/Omaha, where he eventually died of his wounds. I can't remember which beach he was on now.

playing the d day mission on call of duty was nerve wracking. i can’t even imagine doing it for real. i have nothing but respect for veterans. RIP all the young men that never made it home to see their family one more time

This absolute unit. I could only imagine how it feels to have lived this life. My grandpa was a sergeant during Vietnam. He told me stories of his dad and uncles who fought in this war. Never got to meet them. I really wish I had the chance to t the chance to hear it from themselves., and I would've followed in their footsteps if I didn't have....asthma....

My guy tip-toed through a mine field and walked between the rounds of withering fire from TWO MG-42's, and can't even light his smoke. Legendary.

Believe it or not there were actually no MG42’s present on the beaches. It was a variety of other machine guns but no MG42’s

What the video didn’t include was that when he asked the guy next to him for matches, he got no reply. When he looked over, the guy next to him had no head.
Today, it’s considered violence to call somebody by the wrong pronoun.
