Nothing but respect for these men. My grandfather was in WWII in France and Germany. He’s 97 and still kicking, I’m thankful for all the stories he’s shared with me over the years, I have many written down so they’re never forgotten. I remember interviewing my grandfather in middle for a school project, he started talking about the brothers he lost and how young they were, I remember the tears rolling down his face and me not being able to fully grasp the severity of the story he was telling but to see my grandfather cry like that absolutely broke my heart. God bless these men
I just watched The Pacific again on Netflix. Makes this hit harder. These boys/men were the best of the best. The bravery & care of their fellow soldier was literally the greatest thing I've ever heard or seen.
I love hearing this and other heros. Growing up in the 80s, we knew nam vets, and Korean vets, one was my dad and a few ww2 vets. Amazing to listen to. Blessings to all our vets. True heros❤

These ww2 vets are the real heroes. Very respectable and brave, we are losing many of them everyday and very few survives. Hopefully they will always be remembered 🫡

My father landed on Omaha Beach in June 1944. He and thousands of other military marched (no riding in vehicles back then) and fought their way across France and Germany. He helped to free the Jews at Dachau. He was was one of my heroes. Along with my husband who served for 41 years in the army starting in 1975.

I delt poker in the 90's to an Omaha beach veteran. I asked him about it and the stories he told me were shocking. When Saving Private Ryan came out it had nearly every detail he told me about. I loved dealing poker to those WW2 Veterans! All heros! Every single one of them was a hero! One became a race car driver after getting out of the service after Korea. He lost part of his caft from a German Gr enade. Beautiful men every one! Rest in Peace gentleman! ❤❤❤❤

Listened to this gentlemans story on the Jocko podcast maybe a year or two ago? I listened to the entire episode without interruption. My great uncle Frank was one of the first casualties evacuated back to a field hospital off of Utah/Omaha, where he eventually died of his wounds. I can't remember which beach he was on now.
playing the d day mission on call of duty was nerve wracking. i can’t even imagine doing it for real. i have nothing but respect for veterans. RIP all the young men that never made it home to see their family one more time

My guy tip-toed through a mine field and walked between the rounds of withering fire from TWO MG-42's, and can't even light his smoke. Legendary.
Believe it or not there were actually no MG42’s present on the beaches. It was a variety of other machine guns but no MG42’s
