Rein Bankert tells about Alkmaars past

Around 1960, Rein Bankert (1899 - 1971) gave a slide presentation with 150 photos about old Alkmaar. He told on the basis of his own knowledge and experiences. The story was probably given in his own house on the Nieuwpoortslaan in Alkmaar. There was no audience, but the two-hour presentation was recorded on cassette.
The Regional Archive Alkmaar has tried to find the photos shown in 1960 and to combine them with the sound. However, the result you hear here is not complete. Not all photos that Mr Bankert talks about have been found. Here you can hear the complete story, but without images: / vroeger
Mr. Bankert was, among other things, secretary of the Alkmaar Historical Association and has written a lot about the history of Alkmaar. He is also known for the many drawings he made of the city.

Ontzettend interessant om te zijn herinneringen te horen. Ook hier en daar wat additionele informatie voor de ansichtkaarten verzameling vergaard. Is er nog meer materiaal Rein bewaard gebleven? Het boekje over zijn Alkmaarsche herinneringen zijn mij al bekend.
