I agree, Ben has become one of my fav big picture finance guys and his blog/website has tons of great articles with useful insight.
      That being said ..
This is a strange comment! Idk his NW but either way, is there some kind of NG/NW ratio I don't know about? 😅 Nice Guy/Net Worth Deservability Index?
Like maybe Ben has a NG rating of 90 out of 100 so if NW of $30M then his NGNW would be 3.0
But what if he got 10% less nice? Would he only be deserving of $27M NW? I mean I'm probably 4% nicer than Ben- where's my $31.2M NW?
Jk Jk. Just messing around. Cheers!

Jill, loved this! I am an origin story guy and I have heard some of the bits and pieces that he’s shared on Animal Spirits but hearing Ben’s professional and personal story was something that had bit incomplete. So, I guess what I’m trying to say is… Jill & Ben…. you Complete Me. 🙌🏽🤘🏽🐐🏆

Mine and my wife’s retirement portfolios are 90% s&p 500 index fund 10% short term bonds (Warren Buffett portfolio). Our taxable brokerage account is 50% single stocks and 50% cash in money market account. We also have rental property and a paid off home. We have less than 1% crypto and no gold or silver. My goal next year is to increase my cash position.

I love red hold wealth management because it was started by a bunch of bloggers. I’m also a blogger, writing about anime for nearly 30 years, and I have built my company success around that brand.

22:46 Young people don’t actually *know* what they want their career to be when they start. They just assert it with a lot more confidence than you did, Ben. They still end up finding out they started off wrong and need to make adjustments - sometimes small ones, other times big ones. Overconfidence and hubris aren’t the same as deep knowing.

I don’t agree with Bens definition of sell and buy side - I like the CFA definition- sell side create and initially sell the products into the markets (securitise equity, debt, derivatives, etc). Buy side… buys those products.

Another example of why asset allocation is complete gibberish... any educated person who put anything more than 0% allocation into bonds when they were yielding less than three and a half percent has no concept of investing
