    The Bloop" is the given name of a mysterious underwater sound recorded in the 90s. Years later, NOAA scientists discovered that this sound emanated from an iceberg cracking and breaking away from an Antarctic glacier.

      You know that the common 'bloop' design is just an internet meme, right? Even just the size was impossible to estimate properly without knowing what kind of creature it was (there are very small animals capable of making unusually loud sounds). That being said, the sound is now believed to have come from a large piece of glacier breaking, which is much more sensible and parsimonious than "what if there's an unknown animal an order of magnetude larger than anything else we know has ever existed?"

    Even though obviously the Bloop isn't real, I have always found the concept of it so neat and so terrifying. Also, the fact that so little of the ocean has been explored could mean there could be animals down there, just as terrifying and very very real.

    • @nixphx
      @nixphx 2 месяца назад

      It is impossible for the creature such as Bloop to exist and not have been detected. A massive creature at that size would be incapable of living in the deep oceans which are nearly devoid of life beyond microscopic organisms and detritus feeders. Sorry to disappoint you but there are no giant magical creatures in the ocean. The scariest thing about the ocean is the water itself tbh

    Ok first of all (lol) that "fin whale" is actually a Right whale, Blue whales don't have pectoral fins that long, and the Bloop doesn't exist, and going back and forth from smallest to bigger isn't necessary at all. Pretty sure these aren't even "sea monsters" either, otherwise you would've included krakens and loch ness monsters with the Bloop. So far the worst size comparison video I've ever seen. Poorly done, no proper research involved.

    The giant lions mane jellyfish was one particular specimen they found - they are not sure if it’s usual for the species, or not to usually be longer than a blue whale
    Also, where did you get that it was that big of an animal based off the sound?
    Cite some sources, otherwise this is basically just a cool animation

    Bloop v.s. Chutulu. Who would win?

    • @DaveGrean
      @DaveGrean 6 месяцев назад

      Cthulhu is a higher dimensional being that transcends the physical limitations of 3-dimensional space, and qualifies as what humans might consider a 'god'. Bloop is a big fish.
      Who do you think would 'win'...?

    • @izurukamukura9095

      You aren't seriously comparing a higher dimensional eldritch horror to a big fish, right? Cthulu would destroy 1000 Bloops before even realising they were even there.
