The TDI was designed as a retention knife for police officers. The idea being that when someone tries to grab your sidearm, you clamp your strong hand over the gun and use your weak hand to poke at the misbehaving individual until they let go of your sidearm. I definitely like this moreso than the full size version.
The Aus 8 SS is actually a nice soft steel that sharpens very easy, gets very sharp, holds an edge decent, but since it's a softer steel it wears down faster.
They probably call it INVESTIGATOR because the handle is smaller than the original TDI like regular officers carry full size glock 17 and the INVESTIGATOR/DETECTIVE carry the glock 19 just a guess that's why they call it that
Liked the video, i love these little ka-bar karambits, i have the coyote Brown law enforcement with a serrated blade and longer handle. Im waiting for the investigator to arrive today here in Alberta. Great video it was informative, entertaining and i really appreciated seeing someone use it in the blade out reverse grip. Great close quarters blades, devestating potential
Nice review. Very helpful seeing the various ways it can be carried. I like that it can be carried behind the belt for better concealment with a light T shirt. Thank you.
I've been pondering on this question for a while and can't find no answer hopefully someone can help? What causes a knife to become dull when it sits and its sheath never gets any uses ? I have the exact same knife
how do you tighten the screws on the sheath? mine are loose, also i guess another way to format the question is how do you change the orientation of the clip on the sheath ?
So dumb question but, mine just came in the mail, but for the life of me I cannot get the clip off. The screws just spin in the holes. Is there something I just don't seem to be getting? This is my first fixed blade so im not use to having a knife clip on my belt. Im wanting the clip towards the tip of the blade on my left side since my pistol doesn't leave a lot of room on my right side.
@@kevineldridge9452 Use a piece of rubber (rubber elastic band or mouse pad) to press against the opposite side to keep it from turning. I used one of those silicone 'help open food can' pads that are around $2 at Bed, Bath and Beyond to remove the screws from mine.
THIS IS THE BEST REVIEW OF THE KA BAR INVESTIGATOR... I BOUGHT MINE TODAY.

You are correct. It's because it is smaller/lower profile.

I have the exact same knife
Lol I’m buying this knife cause this guy, I like the way he walks so good~~
Do you think the retention of the clip would be good enough a short beltline/pants without a belt?
how do you tighten the screws on the sheath? mine are loose, also i guess another way to format the question is how do you change the orientation of the clip on the sheath ?
Ur da best
Why do you not use SOE belts now?
Loving the 60fps format. Now your videos feel more life-like. Now imagine a new Geocaching at 60fps...
Lmao on the outside shots. Great video and a really good review actually. Thanks for this review.
How do you remove the screws holding in the belt clip? I’m trying to remove them but they keep turning from the opposite side.

You sound just like Seth Rogen! Great review!
