[Intro: Timbaland]
Ah, ah, I'm tired of arguin', girl
I'm tired, I'm tired, I'm tired
Huh, I'm tired of arguin', girl
Huh, I'm tired, I'm tired, I'm tired
Huh, I'm tired of arguin', girl
Freaky-freaky-freaky-freaky, baby girl, huh
[Verse 1: Aaliyah]
Did you sleep on the wrong side, I'm catching a bad vibe
And it's contagious, what's the latest?
Speak your heart, don't bite your tongue
Don't get it twisted (Yeah), don't misuse it
What's your problem, let's resolve it
We can solve it, what's the causes?
It's official, you got issues
I got issues (Um, well you got issues), but I know I miss you
[Chorus: Aaliyah]
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Yeah, who should be hurt, who should be blamed?
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Who should be hurt, who should be ashamed?
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Who should be hurt, will we remain? Oh, I
We need a resolution, we need a resolution
We need a resolution, we have so much confusion
[Verse 2: Aaliyah]
I wanna know, where were you last night?
I fell asleep on the couch, I thought we were going out
I wanna know, were your fingers broke?
If you had let me know I wouldn't have put on my clothes
(I wanna know) Where'd you go instead?
It was four in the morning when you crept back in the bed
I wanna know, what was in your head?
Or what was in my head, am I supposed to change?
[Chorus: Aaliyah]
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Oh, who should be hurt, who should be blamed?
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Who should be hurt, who should be ashamed?
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Oh, who should be hurt and will we remain?
We need a resolution, we need a resolution
We need a resolution, we have so much confusion
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Who should be hurt and who should be blamed?
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Who should be hurt, who should be ashamed?
(Am I supposed to change, are you supposed to change?)
Who should be hurt, will we remain?
We need a resolution, we need a resolution
We need a resolution, we have so much confusion
[Post-Chorus: Aaliyah & Timbaland]
Baby, let me know, you'll let me know (I will)
You'll let me know, you'll let me know (I will)
You'll let me know, you'll let me know (I will)
You'll let me know, you'll let me know
[Verse 3: Timbaland]
Girl, holla
You give me bits and pieces
You tryna blame me when I don't even know the reason
I think it's just the season
Maybe the month, maybe you're bleeding
Now tell me what's the reason?
Snoop video? Looks are deceiving
So, cut the crying, cut the coughing, cut the wheezing, girl
Quit the blaming, cut the naming, cut the sneaking, girl
I think you need some prayer, better call a deacon, girl
So get your act right or else we won't be speaking, girl
So what's it gonna be?
Freaky-freaky, me and you?
Or is it gonna be, who blames who?
I'm tired of these things, I'm tired of these scars
I think I'm gonna get me a drink, I'll call you tomorrow, ooh

Anyone in 2024 ?
Me girl or boy
Yes! this my girl!
Yup! This still inspires me to this DAY!!!! I’m like whoaaa! ❤
im tired of arguin
We are here!!!! This never gets old..
She was about to dominate the entire music industry
@@macabree5856 exactly!
@@macabree5856 Aaliyah was in her own lane, she was already working with the biggest names in the industry, young Beyoncé was her competition 🌚
@@macabree5856 Sorry but by the time this video came out this was the peak of Aaliyah’s career and the downfall of Mariahs. Wasn’t Mariah’s career deemed Over during this time due to her psychotic mental breakdown and failure of a movie glitter with its failure soundtrack. Wasn’t she such a mental case she bombarded TRL and did a strip tease in front of children/minors. Mariah wasn’t even as popular anymore during this. JLo was even bigger then Mariah during this time. There was a whole new wave of Hip Hop and R&B that was steady taking over. Also what does Mariah have anything to do with Aaliyah!?
Yup! That’s why I will always believe her death was not an accident
Love the replies bc they're true
No fakeness. All natural. It doesn’t even make sense how beautiful she was.
It’s unmatched, it’s unique
💯💯
Is amaizing Women....
Music &Heart& all.......😭😭😭😭
I miss you .....
And movies too
I think Selina and her would have been friends
This girl was a full package. Looks, voice, talent, charisma, everything.
I agree, i do not even feel worthy enough to look at such a Angel. She was this white bois dream woman and also many other mens dream woman.
Aaliyah is the goat I thought that back in 01 when I was a teenager, and I still think that now in my mid thirties.
Cadence and finesse too
with so much realism
Period
The fact this song was released in 2001 and still sounds like it could've been released today...Aaliyah was ahead of her time with this album.
@@boredguy5805 bruh this song doesn't sound like any of the music that came out at the time. If i heard this song today, i'd assume it was recently released. It's not exaggeration if it's the truth.
@@boredguy5805 uh no.
@@StefanFerdinand they wasn’t there so they don’t understand
Honestly the song still hasn’t caught up with time it’s still too far ahead
@@boredguy5805 You’re bugging… The album as a whole did not age. You can’t even place it with any era of music. It’s still ahead of its time 20 years later.

Baby Girl? LEGENDARY

All of this! I miss her!
A whole Era! #AALIYAH
So true 😍😍💯
Truth
AALIYAH FACE CARD NEVER DECLINES!!!
This music video still looks futuristic, even in 2023, with the cd player and all. I've been feeling like this since I was an eleven year old boy in 2001. Here we are in 2023 and Aaliyah is STILL the future.
right!!??!!
Facts
No fr. Babygirl was AHEAD of her time. Like how you looking like 2040 way back in 2001???!!! Just one of kind
❤❤❤
So far beyond her time. The girls are still taking notes. There will never be another. 🕊️
20 years later and this still fits into the music scene like it was freshly dropped (video included). This is why Aaliyah’s legacy will live on forever.
Facts💯
Imagine the content we would've gotten from her today. She was SO ahead of the curve!
This song and video is so futuristic, I’m so mad she’s not here to see the love from fans!
Absolutely
WILL FOREVERRR MISS HER OMG😢😢😢😢😢
The hair, the makeup, the fashion, the dancing, the snakes, the instrumental, the voice.... she ATE THIS TF UP!!!
One of them was her pet. And that's bomb for any female to own. Like I don't fit the category but still
No crumbs
Miss her 😢
Who’s here in 2024
Meeeee for sure ❤❤❤
Yep ❤
Here for ever
Me
Yup❤
The passing of Aaliyah and Selena is so sad, how young they were and from circumstances that should of not happened. These 2 women would have took over the world with their beauty and music
They would probably be making music together 😭
Absolutely. 😢
Selena was relegated to a niche genre & demographic - Tejano. She was slowly breaking into pop. But Aaliyah already WAS pop & was about to have an A list movie career, and was known in the mainstream-heavily played on MTV, BET, VH1, etc.. No comparison to each other whatsoever-looks, style, musically, etc. other than them passing prematurely. Selena is more comparable and 1000x more musically talented) to J.Lo. There would absolutely be no J.Lo had Selena lived. Had Aaliyah even lived a few years longer- she would’ve stomped out J.Lo’s music career in the mid-2000’s lol…as she already had her “Nuyorican” demographic on lock.
JLo & Beyonce wouldn't have been
If Selena was still alive, we wouldn’t be hearing JLO harass us about being from “the block” 24/7. Fuck😭
The beauty, the makeup, sonically her and Timbaland were literally 20 years ahead. This & More Than A Woman my favorite music videos of her
More than 20 years. Music these days is terrible compared
Same
Agreed
Even though rock the boat is bitter sweet watching she liked the underwater scenes .. she looked so angelic
@@james441 agree! As far as R&B goes, I’d rather listen to my older cds of Aaliyah, Fugees, Bone Thugs & Mary J and others over the vast majority of what’s out today
she effortlessly held it together for that snake scene cuz I could never 😭
She actually had a pet snake named Boots, she probably loved every second of dancing with them! I couldn't do it, so props to Babygirl!!
Same she's very courageous
britney spears ain t got nothing on that
Snakes is cute so id be excited for a snake scene
Actually, Aaliyah's pet snake was named Kemet for her love of Egyptology. "Boots" was a name suggested by then TRL host Carson Daly, which Aaliyah found kind of mean.
She was real, authentic. That doesn't like to the powerful.
Aaliyah was so way ahead of her time, i can’t believe she was only 22 when she passed away so much talent she had r&b on lock that girl was the one and only truly gifted
Well spoken
This is her best music video ever. Everything it’s so authentic and futurist, we love you forever Aaliyah ✨
👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Agreed. It's my favorite of hers.
Damn right and anyone notice 40 seconds in and Aaliyah has tape over the camera lens in that black mirror screen, just as I have on the mac and phone. Always loved this track and still fresh still and amazing foresight into the lens of our screens of reality.
RIGHT
one in a million to me was her best
When Aaliyah passed away the music industry has never been the same. She was more than an artist. She had a beautiful spirit that you don't see these days in that industry 💕🙏🏽RIP
Facts 💯
This info based on what? Songs? Interviews? Or did u personally know her?
true ❤

So true. Every single interview with her she was so eloquent and Well spoken and just a lovely girl 🥺
The real Queen of R&B
MJB is the queen of R&B Aaliyah was the princess of R&B
Umm no ma’am
She was a runway model with an excellent voice. She was the complete package as an artist.
Stylish epic
The chokehold this fucking song has on me is insane, the fact that it's been 20 years and it still hits as hard as it does is ICONIC!
Same! I listen weekly! The makeup, the sound- she was WAYYYY ahead of her time
You have no idea
I’m telling you 😫
I agree. I still bump it loud when I hear it.
Facts I got my ultimate AaliyahCD right now and I'm still got that mug on repeat💯🔥❤️
What I love most about her songs is the fact that she incorporated different styles and vibes to her songs, yet still at the same time remain true to herself. I totally love this oriental/arabic sound and it’s one of the finest work by Timbo.
Her videos were so special they really have deeper meaning towards the song but the average person doesn’t peep it 💯
@@WO2411 Please explain this one
MORE THAN A WOMAN is Oriental/Arabic. This one sounds more like Sci-Fi. It’s sampling a flute from an orchestra piece made for a movie (John Ottman's "Tricks of the Trade")
@@cestmoi1987 yeah more than a woman has also an oriental style. Same goes with Don‘t know what to tell ya and (in my opinion) with this one. I would say it‘s futuristic as well as oriental.
@@inexpugnabilis Yeah I’m not denying the oriental influence on WNAR. I think it’s just interesting how they blended totally different worlds in one track that’s dope.
Happy 44th birthday in heaven Aaliyah 🙏🏽🕊️
It was an amazing time to be alive in Aaliyah's prime. 😢
This is one of the sickest beats I have ever heard. 22 years later and I cannot forget it...
no forreal this beat is ridiculous .. its like Timbaland did/does no wrong
And how her voice (and echo) just effortlessly traverse it. Then the lyrics- THE LYRICS. This was a perfect song
Timbaland
She is Timeless, I have goosebumps.
EXACTLY
❤❤❤❤ #timeless
Timbo in his absolute bag on this beat 🎵🎬🔥🎵🔥🎵🔥🎬
Her eyes & that glare she had 😩 memorizing
Finally Aaliyah's self-titled album is now available on streaming platforms!!!
i really thought they were going to be dumped unceremoniously and quietly at some point in like the mid 2020s or whatever but that the release on streaming platforms came with 1080p videos, a marketing push and galleries for fans to hang their art & letters really delighted me 😊
So fresh, alluring and iconic til this day!!!! 🔥
Couldn't agree more
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
"If it wasn't for Tony"😊. Glad to see you. Hoped u enjoyed the album☺
Aaliyah was my biggest crush of all time.....I cried when she died.... honestly think it was a set up
None of the female r&b and rappers now can touch her. I stopped listening to rap after like, 2007 because nothing compares to 80's-early 2000's...RIP queen. She was the best of the best ❤
Dark, polished and high-gloss aesthetic, belly rolls, snake pit, male dancers only, her entire swag without looking like a try-hard.. she was something else.
@@mariodobrecevic1773that was her "shtick". The rebellious hip-hop emo type. She came out very revealing clothes when she was a teenager and of course, openly dating a grown ass man and was unapologetic about it
Agreed. Any music after 2007/2008 I barely know lol
Aaliyah will never be replaced never duplicated untouched. She was unstoppable. No one will ever be able to match her skills. She had them all. From her self image and iconic looks, to her singing and dancing. Just heaven and gold. She worked hard, she fought till the end, accomplished her goals, and it payed off. She lived such a short life but was able to fulfill her dreams. She had class swag taste beauty talent beyond words. Aaliyah you are deeply missed and the whole world keeps sharing and streaming your music through the years. You are truly one in a million and forever cherished. Your songs are timeless classic futuristic. Your legacy lives on and your music will continue to touch the hearts of so many people. From the old to the new generations. We might age and get older but your music will forever be with us. It will never fade. But remain alive. Aaliyah you are a blessing in my life and the life of others. Thank God for the short time that you were here on earth. Thank you for giving us life to breath, for giving us hope, joy happiness and peace through your music. You brighten and made us smile. @@Sw-kq9gu Indeed. I totally agree with everything you said as well. Each song I heard from Aaliyah is a part of me and speaks to me tenderly and touches my inner soul. They are jealous to this day.
To this day, Beyonce cant ever measure up to these videos
And never will

She would have been the Queen of Everything! If that makes sense......
Facts
The level of fine she is in this video is incredible, my God!!!
Such a shame what happened...she was ahead of the game.
Baby girl was on another LEVEL🙌🏽
Aaliyah brought cultures together through her music effortlessly. The Persian samples, Asian aesthetic, Spanish Flamenco dance and hand clap used in the beat, soul melody when she says “Oh I,” and technological aesthetics as well.
@@iknowyouvebeenwaiting her music video try again is a direct influence of an iconic scene
That was Timbaland
The crazy thing is that it’s not even a persian/middle eastern/arab sample! It’s sampled from “Tricks of the trade” by John Ottoman from the Incognito soundtrack! (from 1:26). Crazy
Yeeeesssssss
No its arabica
Damn...such a loss. Not only to music. But to the world.
RIP Baby Girl
Interesting how I will go back 20 years for an Aaliyah video, but won't go back two years for a Beyonce video. That speaks volumes.
Her make up was still lit even up to this day
That's literally the ONLY reason that I'm scrolling through the comments right now!
I just knew someone had to leave a comment on her makeup being 🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥! Lol.
@@kennyg6590 SAME HERE!! like wow, the music was head of its time!! still ahead now but the mug is immaculate and ahead of the curve
If Aaliyah was alive today, she would’ve cast such a large shadow we wouldn’t know some of the people in the industry today! Nobody does it like her,& there’ll never be another like her. They’ve been trying for 20yrs & still none comes close.
Big Faccs: on some real shit-big promotion machines and gimmickry aside-Tinashe is the only one of this caliber, this is not a game for her and she has BEEN The Truth, more people (me included) are starting to realize that: from her mixtapes to 333 Deluxe-most of these other girls are not even in the conversation, if we’re talking those for whom music is their life and just have that whole other level of dedication, in the US, legit can count only on one hand.
Nun came close nun Aaliyah was the real deal in her music u felt the lyrics and the composer of her songs all together
At all
@@0Lu.Lu0 I agree that tinashe has the full package to have compared to aaliyah, but she really hasn’t branded herself. I love her, but her music is all over the place. Dark r&b, and then pop. I wish she would have really focused on a specific personality instead of just being an “it” girl. She doesn’t effortlessly move like she’s different, which is something aaliyah did very well. Tinashe is very “look at me!!!“ and it puts people off. I personally don’t like 333. I loved anything nightride and mixtape days. It felt more like the music was more curated to fit together. Songs for you was good too tho.
Don’t have to dim others she was a star undeniably
This woman was a true Goddess. So classy & talented.

Aaliyah and Selena… still feels unreal and it’s been so long.

Aaliyah and timbaland in the 90s was unstoppable
She was bigger than Beyoncé at this time she would have been the greatest female artist of all time
She actually wasn't bigger record sale/hits and popularity wise at the time (though was considered a triple threat due to her acting in movies as well) but Beyonce was a part of a well fabricated trio.
I doubt it if she was still alive. She is beautiful but can barely sing.
Not really love allyiah but destynis child was def bigger than her late 90/early 00s..
@stantwitterflop1325 destiny's child was bigger as a group. As a single artist, Aaliyah was bigger than Beyonce as an individual.
@@mariodobrecevic1773 Aaliyah was bigger than Beyonce for sure, I remember like it was yesterday, Bey was in a group not a solo artis. And we all know jay z was buying DC Albums helping bey and Aaliyah was still winning.

This song was recorded in March of 2001, durng that year summer(August) she passed died in the plane crash.
She was beyond her time and taken before her time 💔
She was beautiful without any surgeries unlike these new “ singer performers . “ Pay attention young generation this Aaliyah is what you call natural allure.
Still looking for a RESOLUTION in 2023✨️
2:45 straight out of the year 3000
Yes...I have always liked her in this particular shot. I wrote a poem for called "Space Traveler" when she passed away and this shot was the inspiration.
Beyoncé wouldn’t be as big if this kid were still alive y’all…Real Talk!!! RIP Baby Gurl!!!🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿😞😞😞
This song, both lyrically and vocally, is SO insanely underrated/underappreciated. Lyrically, this song talks about a relationship that is in this weird limbo. Like, it’s about to fall apart and the singer doesn’t know if it’s their fault or their partner’s or what, ya know? So they’re like, “we need to fix this. We need to fix us”. So she’s asking, “well, who needs to change their ways? me or you?” And then lists things that are in need of changing. Then the other person (Tim), playing the partner, comes in and is like, “nah, I don’t need this rn. I’m going to the bar”. So there is no resolution. Nothing changes. That’s what’s cool about this song. And then add in these very subtle, deceptive vocals that are actually pretty hard and good skill-wise: the vocal fluttering, the way she holds notes in her head voice, how easily she glides between her head, chest, and full voice. It’s insane. And on top of that, the music makes it rather challenging to sing to (which Timb’s beats always did for R&B/Pop singers). But Aaliyah always met, and exceeded, the challenge. His beats were always easier and made more for rappers. But Aaliyah was like “bet” and did the damn thing. Not to mention the cool sci-fi violin(?) sample they put, which they sampled from John Ottoman’s “Tricks of the trade” from the Incognito soundtrack (the sample is pulled from 1:27 in the original song, but used throughout here)
This whole music video is a viiiiibe, Aaliyah is so cool
Her growth as a vocalist is on display on this track. Beautiful.💯🔥

Literally crying tiny diamonds over seeing this all cleaned up after 20 years ♥️ She’s exactly what the world needs right now. What a positive influence she was and still is
