I had a RUclips short go ballistic and get me well over 100k new subscribers. Which is great but they don’t watch videos. I’ve learned to focus on the subscribers that watch us for what we do! Shorts videos aren’t always good for a channel that has long form content.

It can be difficult finding the right trees but so worth it to get up off the ground for a great nights sleep!!
I think you've got a great potential in having a large channel. It just takes a bit of time to catch some upward wave.
