Adventureland Iowa 2024 Opening Day

Adventureland 2024 opening day. It was a great day at the 50th anniversary of Adventureland, Altoona Iowa, with the grand opening of the revamped and enhanced Underground, the world's only indoor wooden roller coaster. (The old clackety animatronic miner is in the Falling Star lounge if you want to see him close up).
Robbie's day began when we arrived at 10 AM for the pre opening festivities and we left at 7 PM at closing. Andrew Fuller, from Is it Cake?, was there with a cake of Petunia Pig, as well as Bernie, local radio stations. We waited with the crowd to run into the park straight to Underground. They had an opening ceremony for the updated ride and we rode the first train (after the winners of a first ride contest). If you want to be surprised, skip that section.
There has been a lot of historical signage installed for the 50 years of Adventureland.
It was a great day and a great season to come.
