I am using Tony's right tip to control the golf swing to be very effective. It's so simple, yet very profound. I only regret that this information wasn't available to me years ago. All of these guys from BE BETTER GOLF are advocating the use of the arms in the swing. This took it to another level for me.
Tony is amazing. He's describing exactly the feels I had recently on the course that I couldn't quite describe. I felt like I was literally rushing towards the target and the ball was super straight. I love his attention to detail too like the toe->heel on the leading foot...
I have greatly enjoyed all of your sessions with these great instructors. They have been entertaining as well as informative. As I have watched and listened, I've heard old things explained in new ways. Perhaps your swing needs what happened to my swing 20 years ago. "DIVINE INTERVENTION". THIS IS A GREAT GAME!
Great Video and alternativ approach to the golfswing. Especially the fact that golfswing is more like an underhand throwing motion and the force is directed straight to the target while the Body follows the Arms. Feels to me more like a more Vertical movement from the top into the impact Zone.
I think about Tony luzack very helpful is the fact that he asks about how the changes feel. He tries to translate and unterstand what goes on, what is received and how the learning process is developing. Excellent highly skilled Teacher in my Eyes!!!!
Excellent video is this concept almost the same as what Mike Malaska said about using the right side opposed to the leftside when you had the invisible vest ?
brandon, at the 15:05 mark i've seen monte if i'm not mistaken give you the same drill. i've been doing this for about 2+ months now and has really helped my contact with the ball.i normally hit low on the face and toe side but with this way i'm hitting higher on the face, higher ball flight and slightly more distance..and for some reason it feels like im swinging easier.. the feeling i get is that i'm cocking my wrist (right)just after the takeaway. i'm not all that flexible in my wrist so i make sure i feel pressure in the back of my right wrist..for me to get the the right takeaway, i do 2-3 practice takeaways and then just swing, no standing over the ball just thinking..to me it feels like i don't cock my wrist at all in my left wrist but i videoed myself and im cocking it like normal...thats because i don't have a cup left wrist now and now its more bowed at the top. great videos and im sure that they going to help a lot of golfers with there swing like me...keep up the good work..
may I share my experience of my swing change which watching tony has been a huge help. ... I'm 54, was averaging +9 (poor putting mostly) and a hogan nerd...well my swing was more inside than yours..however my hips were doing your old hip motion...resulting in lower spine twist injury. after rest + back treatment I had a couple of lessons + watching tonys vids..I have made these changes... 1/ I do the baseball swing drill. this automatically makes my takeaway right hand position as tony is saying. the club is always outside of my hands going back instead of inside. 2/ tony in his other videos says how the right hand/arm needs to come down and it's position half way down the downswing. its brilliant because I've found it makes my hips rotate correctly without any thought of driving my body or hips. also this auto-transfers the weight to the lead leg and left knee ahead of left foot. ok...please bare with me... 3/ from that critical right arm/hand position, I ONLY turn. it now for the first time allows me to turn around the front foot ,my head turns to, and I can finally, and comfortably turn AHEAD and up to shaking somebody's hand towards target and then be totally over and balancing on my left foot. I have been trying with no avail for years to achieve this...it was initially depressing to leave my Hogan thoughts in the bin..but would you believe it, that critical right hand and arm position in the downswing that Tony mentions in his other videos...I'm hitting straight and miles with driver. the biggest surprise is that my swing is NO less like hogans so my main point is...the thought of driving with my hips was reducing my power and hurting my back. the right hand and arm is for me everything and it's a natural throw. I don't think distance and touch can happen until the natural right hand and arm throw is allowed to happen. huge thanks to Tony..my back and game mission is saved. well worth watching all his videos.
Would love to have a 1 2 1 lesson with Tony, his method resonate's with me, can't explain, but hey, im gonna run with it, cheers to both of you. Good luck on your journey Brendon
Tony had a good analysis of your takeaway issues, but...there is a much easier way to learn the proper right arm motion that he did not mention. Make short right arm only sand wedge chips of about 10-15 yards, then build the motion up to 20-30 yards using right arm only. Swing easy and focus on good impact. Rehearse this watching in a mirror to confirm positions are correct. Let your hips rotate back and through. Nice and easy. Be patient and build up to soft half-swings with PW and 9i to ingrain the feel of proper right arm motion and upper body rotation to the target. As Tony says, don't keep your head down- let it rotate towards the target along with your chest- like tossing a ball with your right hand. Slowly reintroduce your left arm to your new right arm driven swing. Feels effortless and in sequence when done correctly. Great drill out of the sand too.
I like Malaska's concept of using gravity much better. Swing should be more natural and not have so much manipulation, especially with the hands. I think it's easier to control the backswing feeling more arms and shoulders than hands. It's your hands that get the club off plane. I don't think I ever think about my hands, just my wrists to control the club face or shallow the swing. Yes, this was the beginning, but I think this shows clearly how much you'd have to practice to make these thoughts work and I'm willing to bet it'll crumble under pressure during a round. Manipulating the club with the hands rather than allowing it to release naturally will result in poor club face control and different bottom points, so inconsistent contact. Just feel like you're fighting what the club is designed to do versus letting it do the majority of the work. It's interesting how we find something that works for us as individuals and then assume it's universal. Good luck being better with this one.
I always been confused about the right hand and what it should do in golf swing . Now I’m sitting on a table and I want to lift my arms up and hit the table , why do I have to hit with my hand facing down ? Why can’t I hit with the bottom of my hand like a gorilla hits the ground , or like we hammer a nail, or like we chop wood ? We never use the right hand palm facing down in any other powerful actions . Thank you in advance .
this was really informative. I realize that I have the exact opposite thing happening in my swing: I pull the club with right hand in the back swing and then pull it entirely with left on the down swing. I can let go with my right hand at the top of the swing and hit the same shot. I definitely don't "punch". Mine is 100% a back handed bitch slap. I need to figure out what to do with that info:)
Another new swing set up. Not sure I will care to do it. What about you? On to the next instructor. With meeting with all this people with new ideas have you come across anyone ideas you will keep for yourself? I do enjoy watching your travels and all the concepts of the golf swing out there; but, in your heart of hearts when you are enjoying a game with your friends I wonder which method you actually like the best. Cheers. I would love you to check out John Hensby's Channel Lock and see how quickly you adapt to it. John and his You Tube followers swear it's the swing of swings.
BE BETTER GOLF Good answer: When we play a game of golf the fewer swing thoughts we have the more we enjoy our game. Once we find we like what we are doing; let all the other stuff go. I did. But , I still like your show and it unique contribution to the golf world
I'm really torn between Mike and Tony's method I have sucess with both, slightly faster swing speed with MM. TL seems closer to the swing I had but I still get the left going left shot, with MM that left going left seems almost impossible. I will try the trust feeling of punching forward. keep up the the great content Brendon
Possible upcoming be better golf school with Tony and Jeff Flagg in feb or march, very small class size, should be a blast email me if you want to know more, bdevore76@gmail.com

Brendon, Try this: place your right hand on the club and then cover it with the left hand so that no part of the left hand is on the club. Start out hitting chips and pitches. Really deactivates the left hand/arm and puts the right in control.
Great video, Brendan. That looked really difficult to get your body to do what Tony was asking. Clearly it felt good when you got a nice one though. Hard making these kind of changes. I noticed he was not so worried about moving forward towards the target, as much as Mr Lopez. Found that quite interesting. Keep up the good work, Phil
Hi Brendon, Worked on this for the last few days with pretty good results. My right wrist is a little sore from the flex and unflex through the hitting area. Am I overdoing it ? It's hard to tell from the video how much this plays a part in the swing.
check your practice swing at 2:20 to the subsequent swing at 2:36. in your practice swing you have a nice one piece take away and the hands and arms are moving in synch with your body. also your right foot is still planted at impact. in your real swing your first move is your wrists breaking and your right foot is not planted at impact. now I am not a pro or good player, so I can only rely on other channels I am watching. most of them address the breaking wrists as a problem because it's moving the hands behind your body, so it's easy to get stuck. as for the foot it appears to be a matter of the individual setup. I know that Tony disagrees with this because he says one cannot turn properly with the right foot planted but there are a lot of players doing that.
Hi! thinking about the right arm have helped me alot, The only problem I get is with the driver. i get i massive hook/ draw and i dont no howe to get it straight. what do i do? thanks for all get content :-)
I had this problem when switching to this type of swing. I cured it by focusing on not flipping at impact. Once I trusted it to go straight with NO hand manipulation or excessive arm rotation, I started hitting the ball much straighter. I didn't use this Reactionary Golf method for right side power, but used Pete Cowen's method of right shoulder pressure - I was able to do that nearly instantly, compared to how complex this video seems to me.
Thanks for the video. I was surprised to hear how much right-side arm involvement was recommended. My left-arm-only swing generates much more speed (like a tennis backswing) than my right-arm-only swing. Why would one want to quiet the left arm?
Enjoyed video,I always believed in right arm underhand swings,i,ve been trying different methods e.g clearing left side navel to target also baseball swing idea.I watch too much instruction and didn,t trust myself with using right side.i,m out S/j.
Ask your experts about what seems to me to be a little odd looking loop at the top of the backswing. Maybe I’m all wet, but it looks a little over the top??
I always get a kick out of students that self diagnose their swing w an instructor at their side. Take some swings and let the instructor do his/her job!
Sorry but Tony is doing exactly as he should be doing and so is Brandon. I'm a physician and we make 98% of our diagnoses from history rather than examination. Tony is a swing doctor and he needs a history from the patient in order to help diagnose his swing disease.
been using this method for a couple weeks. I get the throwing motion and I've done the drills to feel it. I'm just a little confused. Am i throwing an imaginary ball and letting the club do whatever it does? or Am i supposed to throw the club head? In either case is it the hand, forearm,or upper arm that powers the throw? I've been focused on just the hand, but I wanna make sure I'm focusing and thinking about the right things.
I do a bit of both, but mainly i throw the club head at the ball, hope that helps. its hands mostly with me, just imagine throwing the club head at the ball with your right arm. The left arm just goes along for the ride if you know what i mean.
Other than the position of the right hand/wrist I couldn't disagree with this teaching anymore. Watch any tour player and right after impact all their club heads are moving left as well as their hands.
its all good to me....but the shut face going back he is getting into....idk how in the world you can have a natural release without hooking it like that.

Robert Osborne always like to use my phone to video when I working on takeaway .The one arm drills are great like you said to get that takeaway right.

I have been trying to think of something like that. That sounds like just the ticket, thanks Jim!
the thing about shaft lean is that it is very important to alternate between the left and right foot

He has an interesting concept about going offsides. He thinks you will not go offsides if you don't pull with the left.

Brandon, How would this swing change work with the driver?
all the same. Driver in TSOP
Awesome this makes sense to me !
Would you claim that controlling the club with your right arm produces a more flat swing?

Then why u need to wear a glove on the left hand? What it’s he role of the left arm ?
Ask your experts about what seems to me to be a little odd looking loop at the top of the backswing. Maybe I’m all wet, but it looks a little over the top??
Sounds a bit like the Jimmy Ballard swing.
Then what’s the role of the left arm? Why u need to wear a glove on the left hand then?
looks like you set your right arm to soon or bend it
I’m not sure Brendon will ever master the takeaway.

How many coaches do you see for lessons? How can you expect to be better when you're not committed to one swing.
Yes
Dude, you have way too many thoughts and you come over the top.
its all good to me....but the shut face going back he is getting into....idk how in the world you can have a natural release without hooking it like that.
Right arm control. Ax handle technique. No good. You won't get better. You will hurt your right wrist. Then you quit.
are you a doctor?
