@@AjaxJG I'm inclined to agree, I think Chappelle is probably the best to ever do it even despite his weird fixations of the last few years, but Gillis is quickly becoming a true staple in the game. He has such a unique delivery that is somehow both intense and incredibly relaxed all at once, and his writing style is simultaneously both simple and expertly crafted.
He has an understanding of the kind of comedy he's doing in a way not many comics do with their own personal styles. He's just so tuned into his own brand of comedy and the standup game as a whole, and it shows.
He'll be doing arenas in under five to seven years, guaranteed. Though that does kind of give me pause, because his style of comedy is best suited to smaller crowds, like he's just a bro regaling other bros with that crazy thing that happened over the weekend.

@@sagarpandey243 It's referring to a pop culture murder (at the time) - idk if they had found the murderer's body by the time of this show, but he did flee to the Swamp to die.
It's the Gabby Petito murder. They were a viral couple who traveled/lived in a van, and her fiancé killed her out in Wyoming. While police were looking for her for a year and later on he who had fled back home to Florida (prime suspect but no body at the time), he ultimately fled into dense swamp unalived himself with a note confessing he killed her under the pretense it was what she wanted.
Shane is on another level. He improvised set-worthy jokes on the fly, and how great was it to see the host just sitting back and watching him be god tier. He couldn’t keep up and just distracted him, meanwhile he’s spitting straight fire off the dome. Amazing.

@@spfcasual3786 "nobody" is a bit of a stretch.. SNL has always had some incredible cast members and Shane was only gonna be a "featured" member that season. I will agree that not landing SNL pushed him to make Gilly and Keeves and that's all S tier comedy compared to any sketch I've seen on SNL in years. "Sleep Cop" is one of the funniest sketches of all time, and he's pantomiming for 90% of it.

Ian Fidance had great energy and was quick and witty with his material. Maybe im being biased but Shane murdered his set and put every other set to shame. I would love to see a full 40 min of him doing this, his approach to satirical comedy while still pushing the line feels so genuine and nuanced that I have a deep appreciation for his work.
(in case u were not aware) Shane has a new 45 minutes posted on his page that came out like a month ago. it was really great!
