I have the Klein Tools one which also has a thermometer, it’s insanely sensitive and can detect voltages below 12v ac or dc, i use it usually to find wires or see if there’s voltage going through wires, when i work with 120v, i will always double check with a multi meter afterwards to really make sure the circuit is off

Skip to minute 5:00 if you want to see how to use it.

good thorough presentation. Found out everything I wanted to know. I, too, have no use for the green ones!

Good video but you missed one of the key uses. NCVT are great for detecting no ground. The field around ungrounded wiring is much bigger than grounded. In my case we do a lot of knob and tube replacement. If you put the sweet spot of most NCVT one the cover plate screws at a switch or outlet it will not indicate if grounded, but will indicate if not grounded. Big light fixtures with a lot of metal have enormous fields. Sometimes I can pick up no ground 18" away from any wire because the metal of the fixture enhances the magnetic field of the ungrounded wiring.

A fun test is an air filter ionizer, will set it off 6 inches away.

Just bought the 2p and when its in 12-1000v mode and I turn it on it beeps 3times with red and green leds flashing then powers down? When I turn it on in 70-1000v it turns on and when ai switch it to 12-1000v and i get close to electrical it beeps slow with no flashing lights? Do I have a bum tool?

Mine has given me problems from day one. It's not reliable so it's going into the garbage.

How’s it compared to Fluke NCVT?

Why do you write NVCT in the title and description when you verbalize it being NCVT. ??

We call them dummy testers in electrical. You really should fully trust a dummy tester anyways if actually worried for ur life. But they are great tools for finding wires or circuits.

      agreed. Good practice.

    why isn't it NCVT?
