if you only want to mix the multitracks separately, you can also send them to dedicated stereo tracks/channels using the routing matrix in reaper. i haven’t tried it with multitrack wavs yet, but it works with multi out instruments like drumkits, so it should basically be the same procedure.
Good to know Lilac Looper can be used for this, had been using PolyRec from NYSTHI, but I have heard that there may be some undesired amplification with at least one module in their collection that records audio and saves it to a file -- have not tested this for myself yet with my setup. The module I heard this about specifically was Simpliciter, but as it seems that collection may not be updating, it's good to know alternatives that exist. When I get around to testing this it will be with all NYSTHI modules that record audio to a file
I've been using PolyREC too and I've never had any problems, you can set input attenuation from the right click menu so I always set it to at least -12dB. To me this is a slightly better solution than Lilac because there's no need for the extra step of separating a multitrack file.
For this, I generally use the loopback interface of Reaper and just use it to record every track. This way, you won't even have to sort the tracks in Reaper as they are already routed to the right inputs. Great video anyway, as always Omri!
This looks great. I don't seem to be able to get it to work though, it's only recording the first channel on the MindMeld. Also Ableton won't import the Wav. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
It looks like the looper in VCV is not interleaving the stereo pairs on export, so for tracks 1 to 8 you get 16 mono files..which Omri then "interleaved" inside Reaper to get 8 stereo tracks. I could be missing something though. 🙂

Very interesting! I’ll be testing this with Bitwig this weekend methinks. Cheers Omri!
This works a treat. Also, Reaper 7.09 lets you extract stereo tracks from the multitrack wav so even less work!
Oh, nice, I didn't know this. I'm still with 7.06, but it's great that it's possible now
How do you do that? I can't figure it out 😅
@@behranghakami2781 You follow Omri's instructions, but when it comes time to save the wav into Reaper, one of the options is to save as stereo pairs
Nice video! I also like your reaper layout. How do you get the track control for the active track to show in the left docker?
Wow, this was so long ago... I remember watching a video about this. I searched for having a Cubase layout in Reaper

Yeah, I also always use ReaRoute
thanks for sharing

Is it set to multitrack? I think that Ableton might not be able to open multichannel wav...
@@OmriCohen-Music It is set to Multitrack but it only records the first channel. I think you might be right about Ableton though.
can this be done in ableton live?
Супер спасибо!
Good but how can you only got 1to8 separated?
