Drose shutting down Kyrie Irving for an entire playoff series is criminally underrated this one of many reasons why people believe if this man wasn't injury prone he would have been a champion and probably the best pg of this era dude wasn't only unstoppable on offense he could also shut down the other legendary point guards special player💯🌹

shut him down ? nah injuries did. drose balled out but let’s not act like kyrie wasn’t playing on 1 leg.. hurt his ankle in gm 3 & his knee gm 6 which caused him to play 3 total games in the next 2 rounds

Yes it’s plenty of content about those two season but this is lost tbh. This was a title bulls team with a post injury d rose. If d rose didn’t tear his meniscus mid season and have to come back from it I think he and the bulls would of never had to play Cleveland and they would of made the nba finals idk if they beat GS tho

This season was his best after the mvp and you just hear the announcer after every little injury stressing for him this sucks that we missed this explosive career
Man, I really miss Derrick and his Chicago Bulls days, all the great and bad. It was Derrick's MVP season why I became an NBA fan. Since then I had ups and downs either when he played great basketball or go down with an injury. His perseverance is what I always like about him. He can get injured 10 more times, he's never gonna stop because he loves to hoop. I believe Derrick will be a Hall of Famer because of his perseverance, now add his 2008 ROY, 1x First Team All-NBA, 3x All-Star, 2x FIBA World Champ and he's the youngest to be voted as NBA MVP. There is also a rule named after him, the "Derrick Rose Rule", which gives an NBA player bonuses when they either became a 2x All-Star, DPOY or MVP in their first three years in the league, which gives players motivations to become great.
We will always miss this athletic version of him, but I'm happy where he's at in his life. I'm always be grateful because he's the reason why I fell in love with basketball.

D.Rose even after his second major injuriy he still not getting his FOUL calls. Harden had an easy MVP soft and flopping season and get a lot of dumb calls. I’ve NEVER seen D.Rose shift to flopping to gain extra points in the game and even stat pads.

I remember this season because I was tryna copy every move this dude was doin from each game. This year is when he started displaying a grounded nd balanced attack style. He really looked like a running back that I heard other players compare him to often. I remember sports media at the time was critiquing the hell out of him because he was shooting more nd driving/dunking less, tryna clown him when he’d sit out with lower body ailments/injuries, suggesting tension between Butler nd Rose when Jimmy started boomin as the two way phenom from the beginning of the year. This was a fun team to follow nd I enjoyed their playoff run. I really do shake my head in disgust when I think about the refs missing Blatt callin that timeout when they had none. Lue really saved them Cavs from the Bulls that season. I wished the Bulls were able to replicate much of their success that 14-15 season the year after because they were able to keep the majority core but alas.
Im tired of hearing if he never gotten injured, he'll be the best PG of this generation. Brodie Stephen Curry had fracture ankles and became more better, Russell Westbrook torn his mcl and came back harder. Kyrie Irving fracture his knee and had a lot of injuries and came back better, Paul George had hella injuries and came back better as well Kawhi Leonard. So stop all that bs, look at Klay Thompson now brodie. Derrick Rose injury affected his mindset that's all. By the way Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving was never scared to play against Derrick Rose.
First of all drose tore his acl then he try to come back and the 2013-2014 season in 10 games he tore his right knee meniscus if u think a player coming back to mvp form from that then ur dumb and then in the this season on the video he injured his hamstring then he injured his ankle in this season wasn’t going to be the back to form cause he tore his left knee meniscus this same season talking bout Steph had injuries ankle injuries are not worst then these My nigga literally broke his eye in practice in had to play like that for 2 months I can name hella injuries Westbrook barley had injuries he had one injury in klay is dumb to use cause klay ain’t even been playing good anyway he washed U not even a real fan real fans not that if drose didn’t have injuries after the acl he would of been back to form look up the 2013-2014 season. Where drose came bout to play that’s the season that ending his hopes to being back to mvp form buddy 🤡
