8 years I drove a Fiat Scudo Knaus campervan from 1998 with this engine, headgasket changed 2x, 2x new head, whole engine block 1x. In the end it turned out to be an old police vehicle from germany, that was totally worn out with cracked engineblock, which kept eating up heads and gaskets.. After the engine change I drove it till everything leaked, and it was severely shaking in 4th gear like car shaking apart at 70km/h, white smoke... But when it did run it was a pretty peppy and it fit me like a glove! Lived in it for months did big eu roadtrips! I love this model! The newer ones look like froggs! I don't want to drive a frog! I love the boxyness, the lines, the dash!, size and ergonomics so much I just bought another one from 2005 with the better engine! And the longer one too 40cm longer, I absolutely love it! Gonna make it into MY campervan!!! Rokus
85 litres total capacity, 80 + 5 reserve. I run it dry last week, that's what it took to fill it up. 50/50 city/extraurban roads equalled to exactly 7.1 l/ 100 km but the meter is wrong, 100 km is in fact only about 90 due to smaller wheels.
The only thing I don't like is the sound of the horn, it's so dull, I am gonna change that! But I DO like the horn button hidden away on the stalk so you can lean on the steeringwheel without accidently hitting the horn!
