I understand why you could not resist both bikes great buy's. I have a Swallow early 90's (Hand made frame) road bike with 531C competition tubing. Fitted with Ultegra 6700 10 speed lovely steel bike. You did well 👍
Used to work in a shop that sold Dawes bikes, that stratos looks to have the original bar tape, I remember that nasty black cross hatched tape always used to slip so was usually changed pretty quick. I don’t remember them coming as standard with Ultegra I believe it was standard with the champagne coloured 105, but looks to have the original rigida rims I still have a pair hanging in the garage from my impulse.

The Onza bar ends. I have not seen them in a long time. My friend had that bike years ago he hated it. He told people steal it please. But his bike had nice wheels so he striped the frame of parts and bought another frame. ..his bike had different parts better shifters and pedals. And rims. The road bike is nice might not need a major fix up.

531C, 531 Comp and 531DB (double-butted) are all pretty much the same I think

i LOVE those proflex bikes. Girvin/proflex/noleen girder forks like that really are something special
