Smack smack smack! What a great sounding plugin. The 609 compressor is on the top of my wishlist for hardware. I just love the way this thing sounds and how it gives weight to whatever material it processes
Cool compressor - but - let's talk about those *drums* . I love the way you mix drums. They're crisp, full and tight - without being overbearing. Honestly, I think you have some of the best drum mixes I've ever heard, Rhys. After two years at trying my hand at mixing, I'm getting better .....but nowhere *near* your level. I've gotta go back and watch your drum vids again. Were you also playing on this track?
Thanks mate! Drums is definitely one of those challenging elements in a mix. Yeah this little song is from a demo I made for the Lauten Audio tom mics, so I played everything on it :)
Thank you so much for the demo. Now I know a little bit better how to dial this compressor in. Another question, do you know if the limiter is feeding the compressor or the other way around or is it a separate circuit?
I'm a fan of the 33609 on the drum bus. It works well for controlling the drums and adding snap and energy. Have you tried the UAD 33609? What's your opinion between the Kiive and UAD versions?
I tried to reach out to them about demoing it but never heard back 😂 if I was going to buy one I would save up and get the Audioscape or Neve. I’ve heard good things about the Behringer though.
@@spinlightstudios fair enough you tried hahah, I’m surprised they haven’t been featured on any of the large channels. Wanted to hear some reviews from people I know and trust but owell haha great vid
i wanna wihch one is better this plugin or Behringer 369-KT i never had hardware before i see you got one is it really worth it to get a hardware my interface is apollo solo it doesn't have trs lin input to use hardware. so i have to change it but i don't know if is really worth it to get hardware
Plugins have come a long way. Hardware is fun and sounds great. But is it really necessary to get a great mix? Na.. but it can make it quicker to get good results when you track with a couple of good pieces of hardware.
Yes 😁 it’s not so much en EQ kind of character, it’s the way you can hear the compression working, the drums are snappier, grabbier, the mix bus has more excitement. The limiter crushes the transient and saturates it.
@@spinlightstudios Oh, so you changed the title of the video? So you no longer hear the color and character of this plugin when smashing transients? Cool, me neither-checked with PD
Support this channel and get your copy of the Audiscoape Mk609 Plugin here: www.kiiveaudio.com/?sca_ref=4624267.iN0hBtDkFF
Kiive is turning out to be one of my favorite plugin companies..
They are making quality plugins that’s for sure!
Those guitars sound bloody delicious!
Thanks!
that drum sound is amazing
Thank you 🙏🏼
Yes, it's awesome on the drum bus! 😃
Arturia's 609 is great as well.
I was very fortunate to get the very first production MK-609 from Audioscape S/N ending in 00. I have had it for weeks now and love it!!!!!
Ooooffffph! That’s rad man! I think it might be on my wishlist!
Sweet! I think I have the second one! Where is the serial number?

Definitely some magic to it! I really like the plugin, the hardware would be nice indeed!
@@spinlightstudios Those attack mods alone makes it a worthy purchase indeed!
great tones, great production / mix. plugin looks great
Thanks!
I could listen to you talk for hours. I promise I am not a stalker haha XD Great video and demo
Haha thanks Alex!

Great sound overall! The guitars are awesome! Any amp sim used?
Hmmmmm I’m trying to remember, fairly certain it’s a patch from STL ToneHub
NICE ❤

Hey, the compressor comes first. Then the limiter is after that.
@@ProsodySound Awesome, thank you !
Oh yeasss!!!!
I dig it!

I haven’t used the UAD version so I can’t comment - but I really like how the Audioscape sounds!
@@spinlightstudios Yes, it's a good compressor. 🙌
Would you ever try the behringer veresion of this compressor? havent seen any of the bigger channels cover it.

@@spinlightstudios cool thanks i was thinkin about making hardware vocal chain to get pro sounding vocal from the hardware
@@REALEXIT totally worth getting a great vocal chain for tracking with
wonder how it stacks up against the arturia
Trial both at once and see?
Whats on your Guitar chain, it sounds so creamy
Thanks! Maybe I’ll have to dig into that session and take a look! Pretty sure I used a tonehub patch and just some EQ/comp. Using a fender telecaster
Hey Rhys man you should have a very big hard drive to have all those plugins installed. How do you deal with that?😅
Haha yeah it’s becoming a problem 😂 wishing I went with that 4TB drive now 😂
Me too. Always asking myself why did I choose 2to instead of 4 🤣🤣🤣🤪
Are you sure you hearing here a lot of character and color? Damn, its sounds totally transparent to me...
Yes 😁 it’s not so much en EQ kind of character, it’s the way you can hear the compression working, the drums are snappier, grabbier, the mix bus has more excitement. The limiter crushes the transient and saturates it.
@@spinlightstudios im know how saturation is sounding, but here its super transparent, will check it on plugind
You can’t hear the transient being smashed by the limiter? Particularly on the fast release?
@@spinlightstudios Oh, so you changed the title of the video? So you no longer hear the color and character of this plugin when smashing transients? Cool, me neither-checked with PD
@ wow 😂 I changed it to experiment with engagement - I literally talk about the character in the video so I’m not changing my view point on it all.
