And further, I also have filed and registered guano mining claims with America's Sec. of State, on two other guano islands named Serranilla and Bajo Nuevo in the Caribbean Sea. I can own Serranilla by simply reving the old USA co. that last owned it for the sum of $7,500. USA and Columbia claim SOVERIGNTY over Serranilla. Soverignty is NOT land ownership. America and other normal countries claim Soverignty over the land but Individuals and companies own the actual land. Think about it.

r Hello Kathleen. There are case histories in law and hisorical books/documents which disprove your statment that "the US government has claimed ownership of Navassa since 1857." You and all of thesee other people who are writing about me and Navassa need to study the US Guano Act of 1857 found in US Code Title 48, Sect. 1411-1419. The Act is still on the books today. You and those here who attack me and slander me also need to read the late professor of history Jimmy Skaggs book named "The Great Guano Rush." There were 88 such guano islands that businessmen filed mining claims on and many of those islands were bought and sold; even Navassa Island in 1900 in N.Y. at auction for $17,000. Look at the case of Palmyra Island and how the Hawaiian family sued USA in Federal court when our greedy country tried to steal that guano island. America lost their case. Look at the real meaning of the word "appertaine." Look at the true definition of "Soverignty." In 1997 or 1998 I was interviewed from the United Nations offices in N.Y. by a famous Haitian radio talk show host and journalist on a three-way phone conversation with citizens of haiti and this lasted 2.5 hours. I gave Haiti every chances chance to work with me in my law suit against USA AS i SUED BY CORRUPT GOVERNMENT over my ownership rights of Navassa. Haiti never did anything. I offered 50% of all guano mined to Haiti. It fell on deaf ears. I recall many of those phone callers threatening me with Vodoo spells. My God! How hatefull and stupid. Sometime later after that interview, the nice haitian interview man was murdered on the streets of the Haitian capital. My God again! Alexander Haig, former Sec. of State in D.C. said, "American STOLE Navassa fair and square." Fact is dear people, AMERICA DOES NOT OWN NAVASSA. I HAVE MY DEED. WHAT DO YOU HAVE? Before any of you chose to attack me again, do your homework and get your facts straight
You have no valid claim to the island. Islands can only be claimed under the Guano Acts if: a. The island is uninhabited. b. The island is not actively administered by any government. Navassa Island meetthe first criteria, as it is uninhabited. It does not, however, meet the second criteria, as it is actively administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and is regularly patrolled bythe Coast Guard. Thus, your deed is worthless. It has been government property since 1903, when the island was put under the control of the U.S. naval base at Guantanimo Bay. It Is currently under the control of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which assumed responsibility for the island in 1999. It's a wildlife refuge. It doesn't belong to you and it never did.
😠😠😠😠Jimmy Francois la navasse belong to Haiti since 1801in 1804 in haitian construction this island is Haitian territory since 1804 la navasse Island belong to Haiti since 1804
I think you will have an issue of ownership because the US government has claimed ownership since 1857 while Haiti disputes that claim. It is administered by the Fish and Wildlife Service of the Department of the Interior of the United States of America as a National Wildlife Refuge.
Stanley Dougé I don't disagree. I don't think my government has a right (that is why I said claimed ownership). Personally I think elements of my government have done terrible bad in the world and been the bully you have said. Not all Americans are behind that behavior by the way and not everything my government has done has been bad or ill intentioned for that matter. My history has many wrongs in it as does the current actions of government (Same can be said for most governments for that matter). My comment was mostly aimed at this individual person who has been conned and needs to realize his "ownership" is nonsense....there is a long line with claims.
Stanley Dougé I think that Haiti and your people have been badly treated from the start. Not only Haiti, of course. You have reason to be upset. I wish things were different and there was more fairness. I can do nothing to change the past and have tried to vote for the right people in the present and can do nothing much more than that. For what it is worth I am sorry your people have been unfairly dealt and still have a struggle. It is not fair.
+Stanley Dougé The land of your ancestors? Ha! None of your ancestors ever set foot on that island. It just sat there for over 350 years until the United States claimed it. Unlike Haiti, America actually made use of the island. It built a lighthouse, mined guano, and even made use of it in World War II. Now, we use it as a wildlife sanctuary, leaving the island in a prestine and beautiful condition, whereas so many other islands have been poisoned and ruined by man. Now, if Haiti ever made use of the island before we arrived there, then yes, I'd say it rightfully belongs to Haiti, and America's seizure of the island would amount to imperialism. But throughout it's history, the only thing the Haitians ever did was fish the waters around it. That hasn't changed. Haitian fisherman are still allowed to fish around the island as they please. The most recent expedition to the island this year even met some of those fisherman. They greeted them warmly, and gave the poor fisherman supplies, including food, drinking water, and clothing. Tell me, does that sound like a bully to you? I respect Haiti and it's people, but Navasa Island is a US territory. It does not belong to your government.
@GmanZouk its indeed Haiti I'm from Haiti go and look it up.Haiti has claimed the island in its constitution and in documents describing its official boundaries. However, the United States has viewed Navassa as its possession since 1857, and has disputed the claims of Haiti and all the other claimants since then. Navassa Island has come to the attention of the Supreme Court through two cases, the better-known of which, Jones v. United States,

When you look at a map, it looks like it is part of Haiti. Jamaica ,Cuba, and the US does not come as close as Haiti. It is said that Navassa is rich in guano and limestone. Furthermore, it is a strategic location right in the middle of the windward passage. Haiti has a claim on the island. Haiti does not own the island. It never has. No Hatian villages were ever built there, no attempt was made to use the islands resources. No attempt was made to do anything with the island. The first people to do so we're Americans.
this island was used by haitan fisherman since 1801 and this island is listed as a part of Haiti since 1801. This island has no fresh water on it how did they supposed to live there. wrong is wrong, stop defending evil.
to answer your question, America is greedy.THey grabbed up most of the former guano islands and block americans from going to them. They say they do it to protect the scorpions, goats and sea birds but in realty, they dont care. I was blocked on navassa because i was honest and bought it legally and filed my guano claims and did my best to give hard working unemployed americans a chance to have a job there as well as to supply the finest sea bird guano in all of the Caribbean. I am angry with my country. It was Bill Clinton who blocked me. Know how much money now days he is paid to speak before audiences? $400,000 and his butch wife Hillary is paid $250,000 per lecture.
The island wasn't yours to claim. The Guano Islands Act only applies to islands which are not actively administered by any government or inhabited by the citizens of the country of said government. Navassa Island meets the latter criteria, but not the former, as it is administered by the U.S government and its waters are actively patrolled by the Coast Guard. As such, you cannot legally claim the island under the Guano Islands Act.
+Megalodon ~ Hey Meg, quit trying. You can't arguewith the mentally ill. Even if the u.s. didn't have a claim to the island, the Haitians have claimed it since the 1800's, so this clown has absolutely nothing to stand on.

Especially in a time when Haiti is in dire economic need stemming from the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

Who even cares? No-one is doing anything with it. At all.
Go easy. This is sacred American soil we're talking about here. 🇺🇸
This island is part of Haiti which the US claimed or stole under some "right to steal" guano act.

Alison Ellegood? You have never learned how to be good. I just made a formal complaint with youtube.com and according to their rules, you have violated them and will be permanently removed/blocked. They have copies or your remarks. I strongly suggest you back away from me. Go harass your doctor husband in Union City-that is if you still have one.

Navassa island one of Jamaica beautiful islands, located in the Jamaica channel.
That's Ayïti's island which the usa ben trynna steal for the longest
Nan koko manmanw
And Haiti dosen't own Navassa. I do.
Bill Warren you own a land that we already own?
how is that? because you had the american act behind you and we couldn't fight to keep it.
Bill Warren Who sold it to yah ?
+Bill Warren Ridiculous, this Island was part of all Haitian constitutions since 1801 and geographically closer to Haiti than the US.
This island has no fresh water on it how did they supposed to live there. wrong is wrong, stop defending evil.
you are so wacko I cannot stand it. Have you been stupid your entire life? I warn you. do not push me
to answer your question, America is greedy.THey grabbed up most of the former guano islands and block americans from going to them.
