It may sound funny but yah safety pin is most important of all stuff I had during my first year.
In IMU Kolkata I don't remember me wearing any stuff I brought after we got dress .
So don't worry about it . But bring some basic stuff .
Also bring 5000 rupees . It will help you alot .
