In native American culture (correct me if I'm wrong) the Native Americans used to think of foxes as a sort of trickster God. Once again not 100 percent sure so you should probably look it up.
I live in Ontario and I can say 100% that the foxes AND coyotes we have here and up north are ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING. Especially when you have 30-40 of the coyotes all replying back to one another and it makes you regret a late evening hike. Sometimes can't tell if the sound I hear at night is a fox, coyote or someone crying for help and that's especially alarming.

Wolves howling is pretty spooky. Once I worked as a home carer, and it was very close to the Zoo, which I completely forgotten about and the wolves were howling during the full moon, spooky
I should have seen this video before I went into the woods last week. At first I thought I just heard some birds fluttering. Now I'm almost convinced it was a cougar. We have a few around here.
I used to run my dog at a privately owned walking trail in the country since they let me run him off leash (he was better off than on as a young boy). I surprisingly captured bear footprints about 5” across. Beautiful!! This is about an hour north of Indy. Then, one night, years later, when we had moved to acreage near this park, I was dumping some paw wash water off the front porch when I obviously spooked something because I heard a harrumph and a few steps. I stood up straight. Couldn’t see anything because of the front porch lights so I slowly backed up and skedaddled back inside like a child. Never dumped the water with the lights on again! I’ve been within 15 feet of a wolf, watched ground hogs play, played with baby alligators as a kid, even fed a big bull gator we named and treated like a pet, and got too close to a skunk but have never been attacked by any wild animal. That one sound got my attention in a big way!
Wow. That Elk call 4:23. When I was at an animal hospital as another pet owner had an elk call as his ringtone. Everybody in the lobby except one other hunter was very confused and they had to explain to everyone what that noise was. Some of us, stressed, worried and crying about our animals, didn't exactly appreciate it. It's a hell of a sound isn't it?
OMG the red fox lol. Came home from work one morning, and heard that awful scream. I figured it was a dog hurt someone in the woods on my property, I went out searching.
