since you did actively mention that your reason for choosing oathkeeper for kh3 sora was because of the game's focus on saving kairi, i thought it'd be a no-brainer to have the extra kh3 costume be, well, kairi's color scheme, with destiny's embrace. rage form is a good idea, but i do think the idea of a dark alt is a bit overused, in my opinion. great video, though! i really liked the summary chart at the end, as well as the fully custom special set for both sora and xion. nice work!
I feel like if an argument could be made for giving Sora Destiny's Embrace, then one should also be made for giving him Way to the Dawn, which I wouldn't want to do given that neither of them are his to begin with. Kingdom Key D was a special case, given how it's literally the darkness counterpart to _his_ Keyblade, like how Anti/Rage/Whatever form is a darkness counterpart to _his_ normal self. Also, if anyone should be given an alt based on darkness, Sora should have been prioritized over everyone else. I'm glad that you like that ending slide by the way, it took me a while to make and I think it came out great! Thanks for the support!
10:27 I see it as Smash incorporating KH3's Risk Dodge (Evasive ability for when attacks prove too powerful to Guard) without overcomplicating Sora's moveset with a full-on per-move or percentage based gimmick. The projectile makes contact with Smash Sora's Guard, he then swiftly maneuvers out of the way instead of deflecting or at least blocking, and retaliates with a keystrike. 25:26 Finally, someone who agrees that Xion is the most fitting choice were they to include a character as an Echo Fighter!
this is so cool. an awesome way to give more representation to not just sora, but KH as a whole without screwing with all the legal stuff. really surprised to not see flow motion as side b, btw! wondered if it was to distance from sora's moveset in SSF2.
I've never played SSF2 and I'm only vaguely aware of his moveset in that game, so it wasn't meant to differ from that interpretation, I just knew that flowmotion was an important aspect of the modern games so I decided to adapt several aspects of it into how Airstep functions, which in and of itself is an extension of his flowmo capabilities. That's why he can jump off of walls with it as well as slash people away, both of which are flowmo abilities in KH3. Glad you enjoyed the changes!
mmm I'm not sure I agree with the point made about Sora's victory theme, Dearly Beloved I don't think I'd ever have picked for a victory theme per say.
I feel like the only problem I have with this is that Master Form could be placed on Kh1 Sora's new alt, and give KH2 Sora the Roxas alt. Since Dream Drop Sora's second alt already has Wisdom form, it would be funny to see another non kh2 Sora have a drive form, while also keeping the Roxas roots accurate. But other than that, this is a great way to add more KH representation!
They could have done him differently. But there’s so much you can do with sora in games he would be broken in smash so I think he’s almost perfect in ssbu. They did a good job
Ok, I get Twilight Town, but if they were allowed to use Disney stuff, they should use Gummy Ship Tour with locals like: Arendelle (Because Corpate BS) Timeless River (Because Aestetic) Toy Box (Because Toy Story is goated) Wonderland (Because Unique) Halloween Town (Also Aestetic) Space Paranoids (Because Tron is a video game) Olympus Colosseum (Because Cloud and Sephiroth) Deep Space (Because L&S is Goated) Disney Castle (Because Plot) Monsteropolis (Because Monsters Inc. is Goated)
I think Sora's Command Deck Magic was probably the worst system to choose, especially since KH1's would've given a nice flow. KH1's Magic System isn't just interesting, it makes him more interesting. Having special moves consume MP means you can't just spam them and with how it becomes slower to get MP the more of it you have means you're encouraged to use moves but not spam them. This focuses more on aspects of Sora that are unique rather then the generic 3 elements.
The idea of an MP bar is certainly interesting, before he got into the game I made a moveset for him that included it, but I don't mind him not having it. If they were to implement it, they'd probably need to have it apply to other moves like Hero to make it a larger aspect of his playstyle, which means that they would have to replace some of his specials with other moves, and or keep it to Neutral B alone and in response greatly increase the power of his current projectiles to justify having them be made inaccessible so often. I don't think he needs a thorough overhaul in that regard, so I left it as is. That isn't even mentioning that they would need to decide on _which_ MP bar to choose. The one from 2 and 3 is significantly more popular, but, since his design is already so heavily based on KH1, adapting _that_ MP system would make him feel even more disconnected from the rest of his series than he already is. I think it's just easier to accept it as something that could reasonably be cut in his transition to a game with a more limited moveset, like Drive Forms, Limits, Summons, etc.
Seeing this makes me realize they didn't do Sora right at all. This is the reason they should have chosen KH2 Sora not KH1. We could have had a drive gauge as well to encourage aggressiveness for massive damage payout. With guages limit being 3 and each form would go as follows: 1 (Magic) 2 (valor/master) 3 (Final) would be the order.
the Drive Gauge would be a bit much. a KH2 exclusive mechanic, when KH2 didn’t sell as much as KH1 or 3, plus his design from the first game is most likely the most iconic. it would’ve been really nice to get some KH2/3 exclusive attacks tho
I don't think that KH2 selling the worst of the three is grounds for excluding mechanics from it, I'd moreso argue that Drive Forms are just _too_ specific to that _one_ game to warrant basing his _entire_ playstyle around it. If Drives appeared in multiple entries, _then_ I'd be more inclined to include it, but as it stands right now it was just another one time mechanic, as is the same with Chain of Memories' cards or 358's panels.
@@gubsy3730 I definitely agree, the grounds of Drive being specific to 2 and only 2 is why i think it’s a bit much, I’ve just seen a lot of people say the combat in 2 is what they should’ve based it off of entirely, but it’d be a bit weird basing it off of the least selling of the games. Ofc, not to discount KH2’s combat, it’s my second favourite game in the series and has the best combat imo
Sora can bring Xehanort and 12 echo fighters to smash

I watched this video when there were 1.3 K views, 13 days after it came out.
Nomura planned it all from the very beginning.

13:19 THAT would've been so cool.
This is definitely a great video I’m all for xion as an echo
He doesn’t get that there’s another one like people drive, but it’s the same and he looks the same like smash Bros does

@@gubsy3730 Actually counterattack is one of the unlock able abilities in KH 1.
I'll tell you what he should have brought: Donald and Goofy
I agree. I get them not being in his moveset, but would it have really killed them to keep them in his Dive to the Heart?
