Hi Marion! This was such a fun idea for a video! I loved seeing your 'get-ready' process, and both of your dresses were beautiful.The boys looked adorable in their outfits, too! It's interesting to learn about how involved the bat mitzvah celebrations can be; when I was confirmed at my church at age 13, I remember we just had a small get-together with some family and friends at my parents' house. We had food and a cake and that was it. I enjoyed watching this video and hope you do some more in the future (and I am also a fan of closet clean-out/reorganization videos). :)
I would wear a miniskirt with a dark opaque fleece lined leggings. I am not much of exhibitionist. I cover my entire torso, arms, and half of my hands😊. I prefer to give gossipers as less a topic of conversation about me as humanly possible. I also prefer to apply mascara on my brows as well. I guess they call it lamination. I don't care I love Groucho Marx eyebrows 😊. I prefer thick eyebrows on my own face😊. I learned from my mother on makeup 💄 application, but mostly from beauty magazines. Enough about me, moving on. I have 4 daughters. I tried to make every bat mitzvah be specific to each daughter. So they were different. What I did with all my children ( have 2 boys too ) was find a special chesed project that gives wuth their individual characters. So we had helping kids in foster care, collecting money to by a BBQ for lone soldiers, and majeung them a BBQ, collecting gifts for a needy bride, a toy drive for children in hospital and gIving Them out, collecting books for a jew school library , collecting money and buying tfilin in special homes ....I thinking as a bar /bat mitzvah they start collecting theur mitzvot and what a better way to celebrate than to be doing just that. As for kipa klips there r real good one that stick in the inside of the kipa and the other side clips into the hair and the stay even on those very jumpy run around boys 😆 Definitely sneakers for bat mitzvah girl ( I got my daughter both because it seemed to me really weird this was a few years ago) Your boys r soooo cute!

My son goes to a Jewish Day School and I teach at one, but we aren’t Jewish. But I did want to share that we just got a few kippot with the comb clips attached on the inside and we really like them!!
I can't wear heels again after having my child. I. did wear heels first year of my son's life until he started to walk all over our home close to almost turing two to now and continuing where I have not been able to get back into heals. So please don't feel bad that you are not able to get back to wearing heels. I think its just a motherhood thing but maybe I am wrong. I do have ugg loafers I wear flats by cole haan and of course by cole haan closed toe open back sandals with a tiny heel. I have a low low heel sling style shoes also by cole haan that I love wearing when I need to wear dressy shoes. Ugg slip ons without ties are a must for me when it comes to styles comfort shoes. I should do a video all about mom shoes and maybe you an film a little clip if you want on what shoes you love wearing and I can insert into my vlog video.
YES! I saw pics of a friends daughter and her friends recently for Bar/Bat Mitzvah and school dances and they were all wearing white sneakers with their fancy dresses. Its a thing. Anyway mazal tov and you are so cute Marion.

As I was just looking at your family picture near the end of your video, I found myself imagining how absolutely wonderful that picture would be if a little girl was standing in the front next to the boys .. in a frilly dress, a big bow in her curly hair, with all three of her big brothers doting on her. Can you just imagine that?! I know you are so very happy and blessed with your little guys, but for some reason when I saw your family picture a little girl just popped into my mind.

One of my Jewish Professors used a classic “bendy” hair clip to keep his kippah on. I saw him walking around campus and I never saw him without it.
