Still had some swell energy left and it was consistently head high, slightly over head with a few sets still several feet overhead a couple of those bigger sets landed on my head, lol. Anyways Spot# 25 in da books, was super fun session at Bamburas, a spot I haven't surfed in probably over 20 years. I get tired taking my gerry on a big south swell. Cannon duck dive so im always getting tired trying to get out lol
Ya bra it’s not the easiest to get out on that thing when it’s big. Gotta know the soft spots and turtle roll or just abandon ship if no one behind you 😂🤙🏾
@@NobuSurf yup turtle is my go too but I get tired turtling that thing 5+ times to get out per wave on a big day lol I'm getting old. I'm assuming with the sushi you can just duck dive it with ease?

Such a fun spot, when ut has enough size you can bounce back and forth from baby haleiwa and bomburas. Was one of my go to spots when I was xorking on the cruise ship...vould get a few hours in easy riding my bike down from Aloha tower. Also surfed right those two spots the day before Iniki... never knew town could get that good. About Dbl overhead on the peak and not a drop of water out of place...seriously so glassy that the wave looked almost fake comong at you. Love the channel🤙🏼

Great vid! How did you ride the sushi, I have both boards as well but I can’t seem to switch to shortboard quite yet. Any tips for progressing?
Thank You 🙏🏾 I’ve been surfing for 40 years so that probably helped me be able to surf the Sushi. My tip would be to just focus on riding the Sushi and take it out every session for a while. Even after 40 years of surfing when I switch from longer boards to small boards there is an adjustment period. I’m constantly complaining in my vids about feeling really rusty on my regular shortboards because I’m switching boards so much. Also I weigh around 200lbs and I think that’s the upper limit to what that board can handle so if you weigh more than me I’d probably stick to the Gerry. Hope that helps 🤙🏾
