As a dedicated Chargers fan, I can tell you that most of us also did not think highly of this team heading into the season. Very happy with where this team is compared to last year...but we don't have a wonderful offensive line, just offensive tackles. The rest have been pretty awful
Who have the bengals wins came against by the same narrative. Panther, giants, browns, raiders. The chargers have had close games against multiple good teams as well. And have yet to get blown out like the bengals. Had to leave that part out to fit the narrative.
As a Chargers fan, I totally agree with all your points. I feel like their offense is only getting better with a healthier Herbert. Also a totally new offense to learn. I don't feel like it's accurate to use full season stats with them on the offensive side. They are a good team. Definitely a playoff team but not yet in the Super Bowl mix. That will happen next year (if we can somehow keep Minter).
NOBODY expected the Chargers D would improve the way they did. The team was decimated by injuries over the first 5 games. It is ALL about coaching. They HAVE played bad teams, but they have also played bad team with good defenses.
The Chargers had a lot of injuries on those lost and suspended James... Herbert is healthy, so we will see this SNF. Real Charger fans knew that we had a real chance for playoffs this season. BTFU ⚡️
Every week the Bolts have gotten better. Gus Edwards is back healthy and DJ Chark hasn’t even been incorporated into the offense yet. The defense will be getting it’s starting corners back eventually and they have great depth on defense.

I like how you just gloss over the fact they have 2 games against Pittsburgh and a chargers game coming up like they are easy wins. PITTSBURGH and the Chargers have extremely good defenses. The bengals against good defenses equals the Philadelphia result.
