My wife and I play Jeopardy to see who does the dishes. I won on the Geography category because of your videos. So, thank you for your assistance and keep up the amazing work.
I know you say that there are "no bad peoples, only bad governments", and i largely agree, but I want to let you know that you have written permission from me to pull no punches on Pennsylvania when you get to that video
Hello! Wanted to give a great suggestion (well I hope you also think it is great!!!) where you do a quick video saying the world country names and then saying their local/origin name… i.e. Morocco in morroco is called Al Maghrib… Egypt is called Masr, Tunisia is Tunis.. etc….
hello again...Small correction to the book-- the Royal Game of Ur has in fact been decoded. There is a rather famous video of Irving Finkel, the great bearded one, playing it with retired youtuber Tom Scott. Finkel was the one who cracked the rules. It is quite a lot like backgammon, which is itself a very ancient game (back to at least the roman empire) with shared ancestry in the "mancala family." There are so many variations of mancala and backgammon that it is doubtful they have all been recorded... Anyway! Royal Game of Ur is pretty fun and also notable for inventing and using 4-sided pyramid dice. This would make sense in a culture that used "cubits," base-8 and base-4 counting, from which we get the digital "8 bits" term. People counted their fingers and then reserved the thumb for multiplying the sum.
