Tango really made a banger. I feel like the crew needs to do something for him, something big. He put so much work in and now a bunch of our favorite RUclipsrs have hours of content XD
Knowing Grian's having a rough time atm, mostly logging on just to join playing Decked Out, then seeing him get so unlucky and hear the exasperation in his sighs just kills me. I wish him all the luck and fun runs in phase 3 and onward.
You can't let some bad runs keep you down, G. It can be rough when you can pinpoint the mistake that cost you the run, but the best thing you can do is learn from it. Perfect example was you figuring out how to consistently jump across the river. That said, a lot of times luck just isn't on your side (or the dungeon is experiencing some bugs). It sucks, but there's not always a lot you can do about it. Just gotta try and brush it off. Some unsolicited advice, I think Ember Seeker is something you want to invest in over tomes right now. Those extra embers you pick up can make or break whether you're able to afford the higher level cards or not, and of course the higher level cards make doing treasure runs much easier. It's a really well thought out gameplay loop. All that said though, if you don't think you're enjoying the game, then there's no shame in bowing out. I know I'm still gonna watch every episode whether you're playing Decked Out or not.
Grian, your deck is HALF the size (or smaller) as hermits running level 2. You need to max Sneak and get more treasure and ember seekers, then prioritize the 4 Block uncommons. You’re rushing into level 2 with a bad deck and it’s costing you the cards you need to make your deck better!
@@zyphonwhite9853it teaches you that through you experiencing problems with it. It's limited in how blatantly it can teach you mechanics, since it's a (mainly) vanilla game in minecraft. Can't really give situational tips with that. If you max out clank, get more clank block. If you have trouble finding a key, get treasure. If you get a lot of closed doors, get hazard block. If you are short on embers and the rest is fine, get ember seeker. If you have a bunch of cards left over at the end of your run, go deeper/consolidate your deck. If you run out mid-way, either go an easier difficulty or prioritize getting more low-level cards. You learn what to prioritize by observing what you lack for your playstyle. But Grian is having difficulty with Hazard, not getting keys, running out of cards, ramping up clank a bit fast for deeper level 2 runs, and still refusing to buy more cards.
I know I’m pretty late watching the runs, but my opinion would be to get the stability and max them ‘cause then he would be able to stay in the dungeon much longer and wouldn’t get that much hazard blocks (and get killed in result). Then ember seeker and treasure and such.
@@ninamarie1499 clank is the heart beat that determines how long you can stay in (which also flows over into hazard when maxed out). While hazard is the closing of the doors that limit how fast and where you can go. From your reasoning it sounds like you meant clank, and not hazard. Though maxing out either or both isn't a bad thing in any case, they do both make the longer runs much easier after all.
In moments where you're at least one off on embers it just goes to show investing in ember cards are worth it. They spawn in the same place treasures do so just looping around the level after the card plays could grant you that extra ember you might need
Run 7 was so painful, the fact that there were so many ravagers around on top of the zero treasure made it impossible to play. On top of the 3 failed runs in a row, and how all the artifacts he found were in the low teens besides one of the initial runs where he couldnt get out with the 22, and the last run where he got the 21.
tips for finding keys: keys are counted as treasure in the game, so you obviously won't see any until a treasure card gets pulled whenever a "treasure bar" as shown on the map gets pulled, the system has (I believe) a 1 in 3 chance to spawn treasure. If the system chooses to spawn treasure, every location that can spawn treasure has a 1 in 7 chance to spawn treasure, and if it does, a 1 in 3 chance to be a key this means that, if you want to maximize your treasure hunting, you should try to find a large loop around the map that covers most of the treasure spawning locations. If you check a location and it didn't have anything, you don't have to check it again until you hear dispensers go off, which indicates that either the gold or frost ember randomizers have just activated. If it's a gold one, that means that the old locations have effectively refreshed, and you should consider checking them again to see if there is anything new there All this is to say, you can't rely on just a few treasure locations to find keys, especially this early on. If you have a ton of high-treasure cards, you'll probably be able to do so more consistently, but just by pure brute force
Something to consider, whenever the system says "stumble" (I hear it as "skillful", but apparently it's "stumble") your clank increases by 2. The less cards you have and the longer you've been in the dungeon, the more likely it is to happen. If you're at the end of a run and start getting stumbles, and you don't have many cards left, it's probably best to just sprint through and disregard the clank you get from it. It might also be worth tracking your clank, which I've been doing a bit so far, and it seems like the vexes spawn at around 15 clank
Also the heart beat has a slight pause where it beats three times in a row, pause, three beats, pause, repeat. So it's fairly easy to hear when you are on max clank.

48:37 Getting keys with a low treasure deck requires taking more risk and visiting all treasure spots if you're not getting lucky, not just a few safe ones. By now this these runs are a week old, so you probably know, but passive treasure is extremely slow, so it's very useful to have the map up as extra information about cards left and treasure queue confirmation - plus listening for the location of treasure dings after a treasure card has been played.

There is a slight issue with decked out level 1. The fact that everyone is going on medium difficulty means that they are all going to the crypt, and there is one ravager in the crypt. There is one at the beginning of the maze, and the others are on the left and right sides of the crypt, and since nobody is there anymore, the aren't a threat. Grain I need you to look in the rivers for Easter eggs, I am pretty sure there is a secret room under water in level one
4:45 Why is there a grey map covering something? Is this an easter egg or immersion protection?
Still can’t believe that decked out hasn’t become its own separate video game, maybe something similar to darkest dungeon or dark and darker, because I think personally it would be quite successful. After all basically everyone in the audience adores the game.
Don’t stop playing! I mean stop if you’re not having fun but I hope you don’t stop playing decked out I’ve been looking forward to seeing your runs Grian! But do what’s best for you. ❤
I wish you wouldn’t be so hard on yourself ◡̈ you’re doing fantastic, and honestly it’s just so much fun watching everyone challenge (terrify?) themselves in the dungeon haha maybe a gong or two before the start for some extra peace and zen? 😝 keep going and chin up! ◡̈
I LOVE THESE
Nice run Grian you did great. I hope we can see your deck before you run and keep the map of the left hand.❤️
you need to make the phasmo edit longer like this decked out vid grian
Grian slowly going from Ravager, to ravs, to ravi is hilarious. Soon we will be at raviolis
You go through those easy runs no problem (other than bad RNG or bad luck) it really seems like you are ready for level 2! But you should bulk up your ember seeker cards some, you could end up getting 2-6 extra embers on a run!
I will watch these while playing Minecraft. Perfect
Grian should read all the comments giving tips, very useful lol
4:21 i think etho traumatized him lol
I wanna see all your artifacts in your locker. I think it would look cool. Like a mtv cribs but for the decked out lockers.
Need a ravager named ravioli now
What are you doing?
Right now im watching the captions struggling to spell treasure hunter.
"Who's our hunter"
"Forever hunter"
love your 2nd channel as well keep it up :)
I'm actually addicted to watching decked out I just don't get bored help
the sadness in Grians voice is just so painfull
