    Yes it's the top brass when it comes to looping effects, I use it with the Softstep in it's 'pressure' mode for more of a tactile feel for how much effect I want ( I have a bass guitar in my hands most of the time).
    Agreed, limitless. Great vid and thank you! 👏👏

    Using it with a launch Pad steps it up as well with gated increments.

    I cannot tell you how long I have searched for a GREAT quality Turnado video being used with a good midi controller.. I just bought a Novation Launch Control XL Mk 2 and I am hoping beyond hope I bought the right one as it seems to have all the bases covered for use with Turnado.. (I think) I'm going to watch this video over and over until I can operate it in my sleep/.. Thank you so much for sharing your expert knowledge!

    Turnado sends the current knob state to a controller as well. So using a controller with endless encoders + led feedback is the best option. If you dont have motorized faders but normal faders like in this clip you always have to deal with 'catch' or 'jump' behaviour if you switch fx instances. Using endless/led encoders will always reflect the current state of the knobs on your controller. Even when you switch presets on turnado your controller knobs always be synced. 👍

      For sure its a great feature they added. Makes the apc mk2 or the midi fighter a great controller for turnado. :) I'd still recommend a global reset button as i dont have to ensure all the knobs are zeroed out visually, i just need to hit a button.

      @@SeedtoStage Thats indeed always a good idea. I really like the EC4 for Turnado. I have 1 turnado for every 1-4 encoder times 4. So i never have to switch/select tracks. The knob states are always synced and i use a single encoder push action to reset 1 instance or all 4. This removes many mental and physical steps . And you can also add the turnado fx names on the display.

    I love the global reset button. But I got issues mapping it. When I map a single midi note to one macro variation start, Ableton tells me I can't map the same note to another macro variation start. So how did you map it? Thanks for help in advance.

      I found the answer :) you have to first map the parameter of the macro plugin to the effect you want to manipulate. Then you will be able to click on new an rename it.

    • @SeedtoStage
      @SeedtoStage  2 года назад +5

      Exactly. It's sad how electronic musicians just hit play on stage. It's electronic music, you can do ANYTHING. I'm sure much of it is cultural but I also think its a lack of availability of educational resources. It's scary to mangle your stuff up on stage if you're not sure what you're doing. Thats why I'm working on this new course.

    While you’re making your live looping course.. I’d love to figure out a workflow for my push2 to feel more like my RC505.. like a musical video game loop station in real time starting from scratch..
    Or maybe mini setup for a hardware midi controller setups to live loop on ableton? Budget style like Launchkey mini mkIII?
    Also topics like .. how to perform and creating loops from scratch loop without sounding like a repetitive washing machine looper man, and more like producer..
    More FX vids like this..
    Latency - if I wanna use my focusrite 8i8 as interface for input to Ableton for guitar looping.. or a mic via the same device for singing/beatboxing, how do I get a decent latency speeds and good audio quality without killing my CPU?
    Foot pedals - what’s a good set up for initiating loops w feet while playing guitar? (And not relying on a metronome for the first loop is an important workflow here imo)
    Overdubbing!! - does ableton do audio over dubbing or just midi overdubbing? Like.. on a traditional guitar looper, there is a an overdubbing workflow.. ableton seems to be lacking this as a default, maybe I just haven’t found it..
    Thanks for your hard work, technical knowledge, and smooth delivery!

    • @sternenherz

      Sadly there is no audio-overdubbing which is incredibly weird for a "LIVE" Daw. The only way to audio-overdub is via the looper plugin. A nice foot pedal which has specific looper-functions for Ableton is "Datalooper", you can check it out on youtube.

  • @sternenherz

    Cool thing, but: As a live looping artist who performs LIVE, almost EVERY VST is unusable due to latency - even with the best audio interfaces. For example, a simple pitch shift effect via Plugin/MaxForLive or this sugar bytes stuff adds latency to vocals in ableton, which ruins the timing and therefore the fun for live-looping. It's just so sad that it seems for real live performance one needs hardware effects like those in the Boss RC 505 Loopstation. I wonder when Software-Latency will be eliminated.

    • @SeedtoStage
      @SeedtoStage  2 года назад +2

      I am also a live looping artist and i use turnado everywhere. Within Augustus Loop and Mobius you can dial in how much latency your round trip is in your loop in milliseconds. Also software latency is never going to be eliminated, its only going to be reduced. There is processing latency in your 505 as well, its just mitigated within the system. Ableton / plugins don't hold your hand in this way and leaves the management of latency up to you. I mean check out beardyman who is a god of live looping, uses turnado + ableton everywhere.

    • @sternenherz
      @sternenherz 2 года назад

      @@SeedtoStage Yes, i m always wondering how many of you artists can have fun with live vocals + effects (e.g. Rachel Collier, who uses WAVES Ovox effect live). When i load stuff like WAVES Ovox into my vocal track, the monitoring latency gets annoyingly high even with very low ASIObuffersize and DelayCompensation turnedoff. So my question to you: Do you just get used to monitoring latency while using lots of effects? Or did i missunderstand something and it's possible to use turnado without monitoring latency on vocals?

    • @SeedtoStage
      @SeedtoStage  2 года назад

      @@sternenherz no i dont experience monitor latency at all if ive got my buffer size at 128. Its less than 10ms on my system of roundtrip. Its such a short amount of time that humans couldnt percieve it.
