4th spot just located 70m right behind the famous Ah MA drink stall @ Jelutong bridge (first bridge). When you're walking from main jetty to Jelutong bridge about 30m before the bridge, and before the road bend on the left side you will see an abandoned main gate and that's the main entrance to the Ah Poh prawn ponds, just get in the area from the small trail hidden @ the right side of the main gate, continue on the small trail and you'll come to 4th spot. To the 5th spot you just continue walk 450m SSW on the same small trail, but believe that about halfway a portion of the small trail has collapsed into the water, so plan you trip in and out there in the lowest tide periods, so you can walk across the seabed to the others side of the shore. And also take note that, Ah Poh prawn pond area is a restricted zone (a warning sign posted at the gate) and NPB's rangers patrolling the area regularly. 🤞🤞👍 May the spirit of the eagle be with you, happy barra fishing always.
very nice to see you and your wife enjoy have have these experiences friend. Thank you for sharing. much appreciated and inspiring. please make more videos when the time permits. cheers
Ah Poh prawn pond #3 spot is just located 350m NorthEast of #2 spot. After the fence gate @ the end of the walking path behind the Jelutong camp site (locked by NPB, but sombody cut a big hole on it), instead of going forward (west) to the #2 spot, you going the right side path (north) and just keep the pond side on your left, about walking 200m you'll see #3 spot on the your left. Pls take note Ah Poh prawn pond area is a RESTRICTED area, NPB's ranger is patrolling this area routinely. May the spirit of the eagle be with you, happy barra fishing always...
After the jetty and iconic "Welcome to Pulau Ubin" gate, you'll see a big site road map right in front of you, look @ the map's south west area you'll find Puaka Bridge. Or just keep walking to your left @ all the junctions on the main road, you'll come to these Ubin's most popular 2 fishing wooden Jelutong and Puaka bridges. To my pace is about 30mins walking distance from jetty to Puaka bridge. Happy Barra fishing always...
Hi Bro, 27:00.....amazing, as after all these years, some structures from the prawn ponds are still standing there. If they could talk, a beautiful story of its existence could unfold. Awesome video and the overgrown vegetation adds beauty to the abandoned site. Thank you for sharing.
Thks again Bro... I used to fishing very often @ Ah Poh prawn farm more than 25 years ago, but only @ their unused private jetty @ Sugai Jelutong bayou area. Water ways, creeks & ponds are not allowed and accessible for outsider fishing @ that time. After abandoning of prawn farming @ this place for many years, nature has found its way to recovery... Great to see that, it's completely transformed to a 100% nature, richest and healthy ecosystem, and the great breeding environment for Barra... Sounds like you're also familiar to this area. See you @ Ubin, happy fishing...
@@lovefish6461 Hi Bro, Like I've said, I love ur style and enjoyed watching ur channel. Yes, I 'm familiar to P. Ubin as I used to inspect not only the prawn farms but other farms in P. Ubin as well. That's why, P.Ubin has a special place in my heart. Sad though, many of the older residents whom I know, have passed on. Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing ur adventures on Pulau Ubin, bro.
Thks Roy, That's how I cought 2 barras in 15 mins @ Barrage Stand in min tide period in My Lovefish Story Vlog-1. Too bad I's running out of life prawn n need to catch-up the boat, if not will be landed more barras for sure...
Ah Poh prawn pond #2 spot is commonly know as Barrage Stand, althouht it functionality is a tidal gate. BS is just located 200m west of Jelutong Camp Site as this video shown. You can walk-in to Ah Poh area follow the small walking trail just behind the camp site, but the fence gate about 50m (10m after a small construction site to the left) @ the end of this trail has been locked by NPB (Natonal Park Board) for a long time. But some people cut a big hole on the gate to enter the pond area for fishing. Beside the gate entry, you can just walk west along the shoreline from Jelutong CS to BS when low tide. Pls take note that Ah Poh prawn pond area is a restricted area, NPB's ranger is patrolling this area routinely, but many people still going in for barra hunting (you can see many fresh youtube about BS still keep uploading nowadays). May the spirit of the eagle be with you, happy barra fishing always...
Hi Bro, The secret to successful barra fishing is mosely being in the right place @ the right time w the right techniques... Being fishing @ P.Ubin just to hunt for this great fighter beauty for so many yrs, n I've figured out one very TRUE FACT, that's NOBODY can well known the spots better than the professional fisherman which's catching the fishes for living, n the King of the Ubin barra hunter the wild otters. Some angler's lengend tales about secret spots with crazy barra fishing resuits, could have been setup the chain nets by fisherman and occupied by the otters far earlier time than they're. The spot you've figured out is the Home of the barra n planned to revisit on the next day to continue the incredible resuit, but the barras hv change the rules... Ultimately, is the passion n attitude determines the kind of the fishing day you'll hv... You've got the right attitude n that's the only secret towards the barra sport fishing. Try out the most popular barra fishing spot which I've mentioned in MY Lovefish Story Vlog.3. Use the bright color for sunny day, white soft plastic bait is the best lure in this spot @ the over fishing load (by casting net fisherman) moment right now... Just believing that in u heart, the great moment of unforgettable fighting experience will be happended @ the right timing for u... May the spirit of the eagle (King of barra hunter in the sky) be with you. Happy barra fishing...
Hi, Best way to take the public transportation, is to the Tempines East MRT and then take bus 59 to Changi Village. Take a bumboat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal to the Pulau Ubin, travel takes about 15 minutes. Check the sitemap located at the entrance area for the fishing spots I've mentioned...
