Overpriced, way Overpriced. The quality of nitros are so piss poor I can't wrap my head around that price. I have a fully loaded falcon tournament edition and paid 20k less
You should consider doing this series with 19'/19'6" boats since they're a little more budget friendly for the weekend guys and I'm sure many people would love to see it. If you decide to you should do an over under on a Bass Cat Pantera Classic
In May of 2018 I bought my Nitro Z18 with the Mercury 175 2 stroke and a tandem axle trailer. At the time it was the most boat I could get my hands on for the price that I was looking to pay. $34,000 out the door with 9” graphs on the console and bow. I bought it from an independent dealer. Working with Bass Pro sucked. So instead I drove 6 hours away to go get it. The only real issue I have had with this boat have been with the Mercury eating belts and I had to replace the oil tank twice but that was my own fault. All In all the only complaint I have about this boat is the carpet is junk, and the seat letters tear out. So after replacing those we shall see how long they last. All in all, for a $34,000 boat I am happy with it’s performance.
I have driven Nitros but never owned one so I will refrain from quality comments, But! I have a Bass Pro 20 minutes from my house and if you go there with your boat questions you wont get answers, why. The people who are selling them dont own Bass Boats so the only way they can answer anything is referring to the build sheet or saying I will get back to you. I have owned Champions and Bass Cats. A little story, is 2012 a buddy of mine and I started the west Coast Bass cat owners tournament on the California Delta. Ca didn't even have a dealer at the time. Ya know who showed up at our tournament! None other than Rick Pierce! Here is the president of the company who flew 1400 miles to go to a tournament that was run by two guys who he never heard of! Spot on about the first comment and that is SOOO awesome that Rick flew out for that. That stuff matters and is not only a testament to the company but the man himself! GREAT to hear!
Good Over/Under. Andy, you got a mention at the Tackle Warehouse Title Event Weigh in yesterday. I was watching live stream and Adrian Avena talked about Team Marine and Suzuki outboards
Overall boat ergonomics setup on the Z21 is one of the best in the industry, the boat is fast and fun to run. It has the best deck space in the fishing boat, great for team events. Absolutely love the lay out of the deck, and how simple everything is on this boat. Easiest boat to run wires in for electronics. Now the bad side, if they would just take time building these boats with improving the gel coat, strengthening the over all haul of the boat so it would not crack while running tournaments it would be rated so much higher by tournament anglers. The trailer bunks carpet scratches the bottom of the hull every time you load the boat since they changed the carpet to more of a poly base, and the bunks are never screwed in tight to the trailer, which you will need to finish screwing when it arrives. When you are at Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops look under the bunks and looks how the bunks are screwed in. Also, good to take out the back trays look at how the gas tank screws are aligned to make sure they are done right. 1 Warranty really does suck and dealing with the White River Marine group not the easiest thing to do. Rate this boat 7 out of 10. Would have been higher but the quality of the inside of the boat is cheap, expect issues over time.
Nitro is the F150 ecobust of bass boats. Built an empire on selling stripped down underpowered rigs but advertising them as cheaper than fully rigged. Incidentally I saw a memo from Mercury saying using a lithium starting battery would void the warranty but this boat came with one?
Love your videos, but I wish the companies that you always talk about that are the small family companies that build the great boats with the great customer service would make walleye boats also not just bass boats. I would love to buy a ballistic or gambler or something like that in a Walleye boat beacuse I basically just fish the bay of Green Bay and lake Michigan.
That was painful for you Andy, wasn’t it? Realistic, how long will it last compared to better quality built boats? It’s a “bargain” comparatively speaking but if it doesn’t last and you are searching for another new boat at $80,000+ long before you really should have to. Love the channel.
A lot of it boils down to the owner. If you run her hard and put her away wet you are gonna have problems within a year of heavy hard use. We've seen problems with brand new rigs and 3-4 years old ones. They start to show their ugly side around then.
I'd spend same amount of money, or a little less, and put it in a new Falcon.. Great owner, great company. The owner of the company told me NOT to order a boat and wait til October this year for the new one to come out!! Who does that??? Honestly???
The only reason most of the guys i know, or i would go with nitro, is to get in a boat 10-15 k less than other boats, and fish the contingency out… which JM has pretty good contingencies honestly… then trade up in 4 years. Never expecting reliability after that point.
My 2021 Z19 Pro is already back at the dealership. 500 miles on the trailer and they ordered 2 new complete axles, brake lines, master and actuator. I thank the lord that I bought from a trusted local dealer rather than BPS.
Bought mine from bass pro 2 years ago because it was discounted $4,000 after the first of the year. Whatever they cleaned the boat with caused the steering wheel to peel off and our local dealer helped me with the warranty. They will have my business from now on. So far no other issues with the boat. It’s paid for and good enough for me. Z17 for $24,000. I don’t fish tournaments and fish a lot by myself don’t see paying anymore for a new boat.
I never here anything good about Nitros. But in reality everything that you get for the boat are not nitro products. So how bad is a nitro? I agree under valued. I think you should add to the over/under (trade it or keep it). I feel you should trade the nitro every few years, where if you buy a Ballistic you keep it. lol
Thats a great idea! Yes we agree with what ya said there. In our opinion Nitro's are made with the cheapest materials and are made in the least amount of time with the least attention to detail because of that.

I don't know what brand. So customer service sucks for all bassboats in Nj. It also seams like many boat marinas here just hate us bassboat guys. I don't know why.
