Uniquely gifted poet with a voice to match. RIP Leonard. Your legacy remains. We are indebted to you for enriching our souls >Thanks a lot for the upload sunryse!
There was a fire in our local shoe factory. Every "sole" was lost! Sorry. I like to find humor, in the most unlikely places. I'm sorry I'm facetious. If you use that word as an adverb, you don't leave out the minority vowel. All in order. So easy to spell!
It's strange I've heard Judy Collins and others do this but this is a first time. He's got a great voice and the lyrics (thank you) are spooky dood. As much as I've listened to music of the 50's and sixties. There was some really really great music that I missed . Sunryse 111 thanks again for showing me new things
Apologies, my friend. My damned keyboard keeps missing letters, specially "a's" and "e's". I try to proofread everything, but the occasional typo slips though.
One of the best song ever written.
I agree. Real class!
Yeah... hmmm... such a human being trade of emotion.. hmmm
@@klytouch7515oh hi Susan 👋..
@@klytouch7515ain't your name supposed to be LKY...? Hmmmm..😒.
I first heard this song in the sixties. Still love it.
.... i mustof listened to this (well) over 500 times, at that point, i didn't even know what a (real) poet was... till i heard this...RIP, Sir...
Brilliant poet
A longtime favorite! Brilliant!

Thank you Lenny for helping me once again find my sole.

ahh! mr. depression! like his early stuff like this victor, thumbs up.
Yes, he got a bit dark as time went on. But I was introduced to his music by a work colleague in 1972 - and just loved this song.
The positive part of this is about "drowning men"...this time, you drowned, but next time you'll get it together and you'll "hush,"man
🤔..singing for the angels now 🎶✨🎶
The lead singer of Echo and the Bunnymen sent me.
He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone.
Beautiful song, great line, thanks for uploading, but "beneath" is missing an "e". Upvote nonetheless :-)

how is it possible that this is from his first album?
it sounds like he already wrote songs for 100 years
he was a poet by trade, for many years before he started his music career. 🙂

Who is singing this version. It's not him with his croacking mess of a voice.
Oh yes it is.
@@sunryse111 wow hes almost on key
@alg11297 would you do better?
It is his voice when he was younger.
