Interesting fact. The United States Championship match with Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton concluded a series of matches that Hardy and Orton have had with every tier title. The WWE title match being at Royal Rumble '08, an IC title match on Raw '08, the World Tag Team Championship when the Hardys vs Rated RKO on Raw '07.
I love the thought that this was the only reason this match happened in 2018. Ten years on from Orton and Hardy battling for the three top titles in WWE, they did one more dance together for the one title they had never fought over before. xD
I was at this show. It felt like it was never going to end and it was on a Sunday night which meant most of the people there had to go to work or school the next day. That main event dragged way too long. I remember some guy walking out during it yelling "Thanks for nothing Vince!" After the match, Roman just looked around looking sad
I remember having the chance to go to the Raw after HIAC 2018 when they made all the promises and called up Gargano and Ciampa. The show was in Louisiana which is normal makes for a good crowd but they were quiet for literally everything. So glad I saved myself the embarrassment. I’m sure I would have felt the same way you did.
I'm sorry but I had trouble getting through this video 😂. Maybe this was intentional to compare to Backlash 2018, but the constant yawning and analogies in this vid had me turn it off early.
2018 really was the year my love for wrestling really was put to the test. It felt like every show wwe put on, so many RUclips video made, and so many online reaction was just bad. So much so that I actively thought if I should stop watching. Thankfully things did get better and I’m still a fan but not as big as I once was
Besides the Rollins ic title reign, 2018 wwe was bad especially on raw. Smackdown in 2018 was ok compared to raw but I would like to forget about 2018-2019 wwe cause that era was bad especially crown jewel 2018 which basically caused me to stop watching wrestling for 4 years because I was mad that braun lost to lesnar which I didn't want lesnar to win because 14 year old me didn't want him part timing with the universal title again, and shane mcmahon winning a best in the world trophy over kurt angle, miz, and dolph caused me to cancel my wwe network subscription. I'm so glad that hhh took over since wwe has gotten better in these last few years with him.
It really stunk. 2017-19 were all time low years for WWE. Just zero creativity and imagination and passion in the product, same old faces on top, and booking ranging from the boring to the downright nonsensical. And then every so often you'd get an utterly atrocious segment like Bayley: This Is Your Life, Lashley's Sisters, Drake Maverick wetting himself, Dean Ambrose getting flu shots because 'the fans stink', etc. And let's not forget, the only people ever allowed to get over were Reigns, Lesnar, Strowman, Charlotte Flair, and a 50+ year old Goldberg - if anyone else got over, like Becky Lynch or The Fiend, it was purely by accident and often torpedoed out of spite by VKM and co. As Frasier said in this video, no wonder hype for AEW was so high - people had been crying out for a true alternative to WWE since WCW went under, and with how awful WWE was by the end of the 2010s, no wonder AEW felt like such a breath of fresh air right out the gate. Even if WWE is in a better place (mostly) now in terms of creative, the mere fact AEW have at least pushed them to up their game can only be a good thing.
The yawning got annoying after the first time. We get the point that you thought the pay-per-view was boring. We already know it was crap with no life. We don't need constant yawning
Once again seeing Sami Zayn with "Bobby's Sisters" and Big Cass with "Daniel Bryan" is so groan-worthy. WWE leaned on this 'comedy' trope *_SO_* much over 20+ years, and it was completely exhausted. I'm glad they've finally left this cornball stuff behind.
