This happen to me on my 2014 RR. Exactly how he explained it. Did this job in my drive way. Took me about 3 weeks to get parts and resurfacing of heads. Shops did not want to replace the gasket they wanted about 17k for a new engine installed. Spent about 3k on parts n resurfacing. Did the labor myself. It sucks But if you’re mechanically inclined you can do it.
Did the coolant pipe job on my 2020 Land Rover LWB SVR, of note there is a metal pipe upgrade for the front coolant pipes , do not use plastics one again! The upgraded metal pipes will never break and will last the life of the car & beyond , also while the supercharger is off replace the rear coolant pipe! And replace the supercharger oil !
That is wicked! Putting plastic in a high temp environment in an 80 thousand dollar car. My 7 year old knows what happens to plastic in a hot environment. Is this a cost saving measure or just being wicked? What is wrong with metal for such a sensitive part? It is not the money for those who have it. It is the inconvenience.
really incredible how many plastic and rubber parts are bolted to the engine where they WILL fail and requires a complete tear down to replace. VW, porsches, etc, all do this.... its so flipp'n stupid, to save 10-50$ on the cost of a part in manufacturing the car
I just got a coolant leak in my 2013 RRS. Suspecting that it is an issue. Shame is, that I've got a new engine in 2019 and dealer said that they indeed put new y-pipes with new engine. So 3 years, 40,000 miles these crapped out? Really? Also, I have a temp gauge, arrow never moved from the middle, no low coolant warning even now with empty expansion tank. Is my coolant level sensor defective? I am even tried to go in to service menue and clicked "show warnings" - nothing.
Please help me, Jaguar Xj 5.0 supercharged. The water goes into the oil in large quantities quickly. Do you have any idea what might be causing this? Gasket? Thanks.
You’re gone that far I would just go to a metal engineer and have them make me the same exact part out of stainless steel so that never happens ever again but this is very helpful
Hi Is it possible, can you give me all the reinstall tourqe specs for the 3.0 2016 rover? In the workshop manual I'm only seeing the 5.0 Thanks alot Much appreciated
I just replace the bypass tube front under the intake and leak 😢😢 just back again tomorrow, remove and check everything, plus I replace the bypass pipe on the back of the heads what a job OMG ILL never do this again

Excellent Video, I am very pleased with the amount of information given. I really appreciate it.
Glad to help!
Im facing the same issue with my Range Rover Sport 2017
There needs to be a recall on that y-shaped pipe. I now know MANY people that paid $80k+ for these cars and they ALL have the same issue.
Jaguar re-designed the crossover pipe in 2015. However, did not recall previous years.
I have the same issue and need to connect with as many people as I can to pursue action against Land Rover
Just happen today to me. 2016 rr sport. 120k yay😊
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it

only gotta last 3yr/36000miles. Most people that buy $200,000 trucks are leasing, or dumping it for a later model shortly after the warranty expires.

This just happened to me, I have yet to find a shop. Dealer is saying new engine.
Same
Hi, what is the name of that black plastic pipe please and do they make in different material?

If you replace it with metal it will creat noise .resonate frequencies and it will creat knocking signal under certain torque
They have these pipes made out of aluminum on ebay. Someone actually thought of that already. $60 for both.
@@unprofessionalmechanic8466can you give me the link to buy..thks

Curious how much this job ended up costing them. My quotes for new HG have been up to $9500…such a waste.
My car ranger Rover sport 2011 sport it have problem I have to increase water for cooling moter every 50km what can I do ?
I have a 2017 Sport have they replaced the plastic pipe with metal ones.
Do you know where can we find or purchase the metal replacement pipe?
How much does it cost to replace the plastic pipes with the metal ones.
No one will tell us what's the estimated cost of replacing the plastic to aluminum pipe whether its V6 or V8
Pipes are available on ebay for like $60.
I just replace the bypass tube front under the intake and leak 😢😢 just back again tomorrow, remove and check everything, plus I replace the bypass pipe on the back of the heads what a job OMG ILL never do this again
I guess its 4k to replace the hose
How much did this job cost?. I have one and had that happened.
How did you resolve it? Did RR help you out or leave you hanging?
Yeah i got no response
@@Britishone22 did you find a shop that would fix it?
Those are money makers. I do a few a month. Good times.
I’m always so shocked that Landrover is still in business when they produce faulty vehicle parts on their cars.
Never buy a Range Rover...! Those issues should be a factory recall..!
The dealership charged me$2500 for a water pump and that plastic pipe
Then going to tell me I have a bad head gasket. 10k more if I want them to fix. Should I get a lawyer.
They should have made that a metal part
