You are right. It was a win for all the baseball fans of the New York area who have needed a night out like this! The game was a thriller right down to the wire. The excellent proceedings honoring all the first responders during 9-11, as well as the fallen, was very heart warming. We Americans haven't had a lot to rejoice in lately!
heartbreaker for us but I take comfort in knowing that regardless of who won, all of New York and America wins! LOVE the ceremony, the jerseys, and the slugfest

Still get chills watching this game. Even as a Yankee fan you just feel for Pete in the 8th. You know how much this meant to him and how much he wanted it. I told my buddies there was no way Pete Alonso won't hit a big HR in this game and I was almost right
Really unbelievable how these Yankees play. One day they cant get a single hit and on other days they just demolish baseballs. Glad to see Judge perform. Guess nobody hates him. Such a wonderful player🔥🔥
Definitely one of the greatest roller-coaster baseball games. So enjoyable! Thank you, New York, for showing how resilient people are and the beauty of baseball: Never give up, and you’ll find the silver lining right there. ⛅⚾⚾⚾
The N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Mets played each other in an interleague game, on the twentieth anniversary, of two planes crashing into the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in New York City. The pregame ceremonies at Citi Field honorably and respectfully paid tribute to the many lives that were lost on 9-11-01. The pregame ceremonies, also included, many former Yankee and Met players, who were members of each team during the 2001 season as well as former managers, Joe Torre and Bobby Valentine. The Mets, also wore New York on the front of their home uniforms for this game, at Citi Field, to add to the tribute of twenty years before. The Yankees defeated the Mets 8-7 to end a seven game losing streak.
It would’ve been perfect if the Mets started Rich Hill because I’m pretty sure he’s the only guy on either team who was old enough to truly comprehend what happened on that day
Again Boone had this set up for another failure but the key players in this team carried the weight of the ones that shouldnt be playing & managed to pull thru for the win.aside from that what a great night for baseball & new york seeing everyone united remembering the ones we lost & what this country went through 20 years ago is heart warming.godbless!!
@@ANTHONY0808able yeah it’s really upsetting. What are the odds they’d loose their two most trustworthy starters to injuries at the same time. On top of all the bad offense they’ve had recently, they also got super unlucky with this
What a game. Only bad thing about it was Angel Hernandez being the HP umpire. After their longest losing streak of the season, the Yankees almost extended that tonight. They're obviously not gonna win the division, so they just gotta focus on retaining a WC spot
Eso fue un juego de mucha emoción estubo complicado para los fanáticos por qué hasta el final del juego no se sabía quién IVA a ganar buen juego por parte de new yor _mets y Yankees

Yeah, and so do I!! They need to get on a roll again. But their starting pitching is very shaky, not to mention the bullpen is pretty gassed. They need a week of consecutive excellent starts. If not, they could be going home early this year!
Man the Yankee's pitching is barely holding it together. Kluber hasnt been it. Holmes and Rodriguez aren't what they needed at the trade deadline, lets not talk about the bargain bin that Cashman got Heany out of. Leutge isn't that guy, he's only reliable in low pressure situations and it seems like every time Green comes in he's serving up a HR. No need to mention how Chapman has to give them heart palpitations for a save. Seems like every time they get a decent outing from a pitcher (Cortes, Montgomery and Taillon) the offense goes quiet.
When the Yankees went up 5-0, I was thinking that they need to score more because nothing has been easy for the 2021 yankees. Sure enough, Yanks had sweat out another 1 run game. Frustrating that it took some superhuman defensive plays by the Yankees(judge and higgy) plus a unlikely error(Baez on tailor made dp) to give the Yankees this win.
Give me 10 Trevor May's on my team please. What a refreshing post game interview to watch. Normally you get "didn't execute my pitches BS" from these guys. May's competitivness was great to see.
