Definitely sending you good vibes for your packing and move. Even if you are excited about where you are going it always sucks, especially if you have a lot of books. The best boxes for books are bankers boxes or the ones that paper comes in (I am lucky to get them from work). My husband and I lived in an apartment for 10 years before we bought our first house. He collects first edition books, so we have always had renters insurance, since some are worth more than my car. We had to increase the coverage on our homeowners insurance for the books as well.
You should get into what I call the trash reads era, I use those to get over slumps. Sometimes romance, sometimes adventure books, anything that you don't regret DNFing but that gets you reading. I miss the series they used to have that I called beach reads you'd buy at airports and random spots. Easy breezy and sometimes fun. Have you considered cracking open like a biopic or a memoir? I like reading about other people's lives when I need a recharge.

Jordaline!! Amazon has this product called “Howard Products, Neutral Restor-A-Finish, 8 oz”. Just put it on a rag and wipe the coffee table down, it will restore those tables by bringing back their color and it hides all the scuff marks. It’s a wonderful thing to use on old, beat up, or faded wood furniture. The Walnut tint might work best on what you have or you can get the neutral. You’ll want to use it in anything wooden you own after you see what it can do.
Idk if this would help but I love reading goosebumps books when I hit a slump, they’re short but I feel really accomplished if I can finish a book in one sitting and they normally play on famous horror tropes so it has the chance of making me want to read more books similar to that
When you pack books, pack books in the first half, and then pack lite things that you don’t know what to do with in the second half, like decorative pillows or throw blankets. That way the books are protected, the box is full, but it’s not too heavy!

I feel like a lot of booktubers struggle with falling out of love with reading because they’re reading for content. My suggestion would be to film ahead and put out less videos so that they’re scheduled and you have a break to freely read. Also creating your Content around books you think you will enjoy so do 24 hour read-athon‘s that allow you to freely build your own TBR or make your Content based off of books you want to read so then you can enjoy it
Give the cats their own room to chill/hide in and get acclimated. Maybe get a Feliway plug in. also if u can, move them last after u unpacked a bunch of stuff
Ugh, moving books is so difficult. I had 25 boxes of them alone. We moved the books ourselves and shaved so much money off our moving quote. But handles are a must, good luck and hope the move goes well!

I thought you should know that I read A Simple Plan on your recommendation from a recent video, and I don’t know if it was the book itself or the way the audiobook narrator read it, but I have never been so unsettled in my life. 5 stars. I hated it so much, it was so good 😂
First I wanted to say I hope you enjoy your new place! I wanted to give a suggestion on a book. I had a book almost put me into a deep reading slump myself. The book was written by a man and had a ton of SA references. As someone who endured molestation and SA it triggered me really bad and just left me struggling to find joy in reading. I picked up a book called Planetfall by Emma Newman. Its a 4 book series but the books are not that long. I only read the first one and its the first book in a long time I struggled to put down I just wanted to keep reading. I was so invested in the mystery of it all and trying to figure it out, and invested in the the character Ren. It was written by a woman so the woman in it are written more authentically. There is LGBTQIA representation. The book also tackles faith- not in a preachy way but in a way that shows we are always seeking to figure out why we are here and if we are alone in the universe. It tackles how science can be in harmony with faith- how faith is different from religion. I have not read the other 3 books yet (After Atlas, Before Mars, Atlas Alone). But the end of book one wraps up enough that its really up to you if you want to continue to book 2. It also tackles trauma and how we each process/cope differently. It was such a great story Jordaline! So I definitely suggest! Maybe it will help you the way it did me! The other thing I wanted to say is I have been seeing alot of book tubers realize they were reading out of a pressure to do more/read more faster- to show how much has been read. There is something to be said for reading a book slower, savoring it, and really absorbing and thinking on what your reading. Journaling it, what you feel, what your learning, how it challenged you- or even that it was a fun read that brought you joy, Its not about the numbers. Every person here just enjoy you Jordaline! You being authentic! We don't need too see your read 13-20 books a month. Another suggestion find books about things that your passionate about. Space, science, history, ancient civilizations, different cultures/religions/faiths, important issues we face today, art, music, magic- it can be something real or something as a kid into adulthood you just genuinely loved! I was thinking today how lucky we truly are. Back in the day only the rich had access to books- if you had a bible in your home for example you were very rich. Also the censorship many places have endured. I was once told of villages smuggling in a bible ripping out pages and sharing them with other places- and they treasured that one page. Books are a way of escape but also a blessing in which we can step outside of ourselves too learn from another individuals experiences- or feel less alone in one that is similar to something we are facing. When I feel slumpy I read ridiculous smut or check my mood….just an idea maybe a try a chapter video? Might be a good way to get some content and do some mood reading 🤞🏻

One thing I do that's been working for me for years when I get into a reading slump is to completely stop reading books and just read a bunch of fanfiction! Just the fact that I'm reading about characters that I already love and invested in makes it a lot easier for me to get immersed in a story and it snowballs into finally craving something totally new.
I thought this was a fun vlog and I am glad you found some furniture for your new place and that you will have your own space. What will happen to the third kitty? Is he/she your roommates? I was laughing so hard when you accidentally gave away the book you were currently reading! 😂 So something I would do! I am also in a reading slump 😢 which is rare for me. I have been reading nothing but horror and thrillers so long and think I need to change things up so in April I am planning on reading books from any other genre.

Well, you never know if you don't know an objects history. I say follow your instincts. If a piece gives you a bad vibe, don't buy it or get rid of it if you have already purchased it. I had an antique mirror that gave me a bad feeling every time I looked at it. It belonged to a family member so I didn't get rid of it, but I don't keep it in my house. Call me superstitious if you want to, but I say better safe than sorry. Love your vlog maybe once you get settled in your new space you will come out of your slump.

Thinking about moving and preparing to move is way too distracting. It took me a year to prepare to move 500 miles away and house hunting. And I read like half as much as usual. Moving is a top 3 stressful event. You didn't fall out of love with reading, moving is just too mind-consuming
I'm in a reading slump myself, it's only been a week but I'm not liking this. No matter what you talk about, I will be here love your channel. You talked about old furniture being haunted. Once your all moved in open the Windows and doors and s sage each room. This will remove any bad juju and you'll start out fresh. Good luck with the move.
This is so late lol but if you want to make those furniture pieces look and smell great... get you a bottle of old English. It has a tint and conditions the wood... scratches improve by a LOT. Doubt you'll see this but I wanted to put it out into the universe just incase. lol
You are not the only one that does nothing and listens to audiobooks! I do it too because I am so freaking busy all the time between work and college that sometimes I just need to lay in my bed and finish an audiobook.

I was laughing so hard when you accidentally gave away the book you were currently reading! 😂 So something I would do! I am also in a reading slump 😢 which is rare for me. I have been reading nothing but horror and thrillers so long and think I need to change things up so in April I am planning on reading books from any other genre.

I just finished Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia! I was meh in the beginning too and on the verge of dnfing until Wendell came in! Now it's a solid 4 stars for me, very cute

Well, you never know if you don't know an objects history. I say follow your instincts. If a piece gives you a bad vibe, don't buy it or get rid of it if you have already purchased it. I had an antique mirror that gave me a bad feeling every time I looked at it. It belonged to a family member so I didn't get rid of it, but I don't keep it in my house. Call me superstitious if you want to, but I say better safe than sorry. Love your vlog maybe once you get settled in your new space you will come out of your slump.

I'm also in a serious reading slump. I haven't read practically anything in I would say 2 months or so and when I do pick up a book I end up reading a page or 2. Holy hell I need help. 😬
I'm in a reading slump too with books. I've been only reading manga for the past month 😂. I try reading books and I just don't care 🤷. I don't care about the plot or characters even though I know I would be having a good time if it wasn't for the reading slump.

Thinking about moving and preparing to move is way too distracting. It took me a year to prepare to move 500 miles away and house hunting. And I read like half as much as usual. Moving is a top 3 stressful event. You didn't fall out of love with reading, moving is just too mind-consuming
I'm in a reading slump myself, it's only been a week but I'm not liking this. No matter what you talk about, I will be here love your channel. You talked about old furniture being haunted. Once your all moved in open the Windows and doors and s sage each room. This will remove any bad juju and you'll start out fresh. Good luck with the move.

This is so late lol but if you want to make those furniture pieces look and smell great... get you a bottle of old English. It has a tint and conditions the wood... scratches improve by a LOT. Doubt you'll see this but I wanted to put it out into the universe just incase. lol
