shanks is mid after a lot of testing. would sooner run 4 hody 4 doffy than put in shanks. It doesn't catch you up in the black matchup. Just go face and win with hody instead
@ how do you survive all the big bodies black throws at you? How do you go face if all your pieces disappear the turn after they’re played? (Genuinely asking, as a Bonney player, not trying to criticize)
@@orsorobot6272 how are you playing shanks on 8 don? a good lucci will take first from you. If you do happen to go first, you should be dropping hody early. Early turns play any body u can for curve. Have them use removal on it. Hopefully by 7+ don turns it's harder to remove your top end. Then you doffy them, then hody for game. if you drop shanks, u remove 1 body and your turn is over. They clear that and have another moria on board. Now you spend the turn building board again but now they have more and bigger bodies. You can't go the distance against black, gotta end it soon and leverage leader ability to stop dying before them
@@ConereNetwork I hear you but Bonney just won a regional with 493 players and it played 4 doffy 4 hody and still played shanks. Also top 4 from San Diego played 4 doffy 3 hody and 2 shanks so it's definitely more reason to play it it seems

I put back in urouge in my newest list. Shanks not so good in my opinion. I think other cards are better like hody/doffy/eustass kid/zoro

@ at least throwing Shanks on Jack on curve is a big tempo swing on Bonneys part
