    It was interesting to watch you visit an art supply store in the Netherlands. Here in the US, there is so much theft that small items are usually locked in a cabinet. You need to ask a clerk to open the cabinet. When you select something, the clerk takes it to the counter and you get it when you pay for your items.
    I think Schminke watercolors are very high quality because they contain a concentrated amount of archival pigment. For my purposes, they are unnecessarily expensive. I usually use my Cottman and Van Gogh paints with contentment because I'm not a fine artist who needs the archival quality of Schminke and its associated cost.
    As for water brushes, I had a horrible experience with Pentel Aquash brushes. The one I had leaked uncontrollably which left very diluted paint in places I had no intention of leaving paint. Along with the ruined images due to lack of control, the paper became very saturated and took an extra long time to dry. The experience was so bad that I swore off ever using a water brush again. Years after the initial experience, a friend told me about Kuretake Zig water brushes. I bought a packet with 3 different size brushes and I LOVE them! The water flow is always the right amount so it's easy to control the depth of color and to get the paint exactly where I want it.
    Thanks for sharing your haul. I hope you have fun experimenting.

    Very good video. Right amount of time on the art supplies themselves, not too fast, not too chatty. I loved the visit at the art shop, as well.

    somehow, purchasing in offline stores gives me feeling of accomplishment, so i agree with you, especially with the inspiration part, i always find so many interesting items and mediums!

    Ive had a few art supplies over the years from Derwent and other brands. Some of my favorites came from a scrawlrbox a long time ago. Love this kind of video! My favorite things to use have been gouache paint, acrylic paint , charcoal pencils , gellyroll, grey putty eraser ( forgot the name sorry) among many other artist tools I use to buy from Plaza artist materials a small store I use to live near. The one you went to looked amazing and everything in this video as well! Due to my health it’s hard to physically draw with many different tools vs my Apple Pencil but someday soon hope to get back into it. My mother inspired me with her collages from magazine clippings and watercolor combined into artwork and I don’t know how she does it so beautifully. In Korea they have artbox that has so many beautiful art things and other items for not much money either💜 cute art supplies as well. I just found you recently and like listening to and watching your videos on the side of my iPad as I draw. Definitely helps me to be productive ❤

    I don’t think Schmincke Academie are professional paints

      It’s ok to disagree 😉

    • @jojo_watercolors
      @jojo_watercolors Год назад +1

      @@AsiaOrlando of course it’s ok to disagree. But it’s not a personal opinion. Schmincke has two lines of watercolor paints: Akademie which is student-grade and Hordam which are professional watercolors. It doesn’t mean Akademie are a bad choice, they are great paints. Just not professional grade paints :)

      @@AsiaOrlando anything can be turned into professional paints. Even if not labeled as professional. I think that’s what people aren’t understanding ❤ lol
