"Genius" is exactly the word I would use to describe Marine. This girl is crazy, hilarious, often playful and perverted but also very much a wise and experienced performer. She has an incredible singing voice and always goes ALL OUT on her animated music videos like this one. Genuinely, she's one of the greatest entertainers I've ever seen - on the internet or otherwise.
Marine is really an amazing person, she might be spicy but she's also one of the wholesome members of Hololive and many other members lover her too She used to get made fun of as an old lady that could not dance at all but on her anniversary where she premiered this song with a live performance of many other songs she showed how far she's come through the years
I think the song plays really well to a part of Marine's character, in that she's down bad and is so thirsty that she comes onto her target way too strong and makes them uncomfortable. It's one of the things that makes her interactions with someone like Pekora entertaining to watch.

That is also the nice thing about Hololive music. There is SUCH a wide variety in voices and genres of songs that they make and cover. Marine is such a sweetheart, yes she's quite spicy with things like this but the rest of the time she's super down to earth and fun. Great art steams, chatting streams and some classic karaoke choices. Our forever 17 captain is always a treat.

My favorite Marine track is "Unison" which has a COMPLETELY different feel from I'm Your Treasure Box, and is just an absolute banger. Trance Hop? I think? I'm bad at genres. Definitely should check it out for sure!
odd thing is, I wasnt feeling that song when i first heard it but for some reason it stuck in my brain. I couldnt get it out of my head and listened to it multiple times.
Marine's songs are all pretty catchy tunes. 'Ahoy' is pretty iconic song of hers, which is why it is recommended a lot. 'Marine Shouko' would have more of her straight singing in it. Her other original song, Unison, is also quite good and in the unusual 'kawaiipop' genre. As for Suisei songs, a good followup could be her cover of Saga Jihen (which also has Marine singing in it).
The best part about the entire MV is that the song is both a double entendre and in fact actually literal. Namely that Marine is in fact trapped in a literal box in the music video, and the raw horny sounds coming from the book results in whoever is approaching to back the hell away (if you notice, at the end of the MV the box actually has additional chains on it as if whoever found it NOPE'd the hell out of there).

I'm happy you reacted to it XD. I won't deny that in part I recommended it so heavily because I wanted to see you being catch off-guard by it XD. But I also think that Marine is an absolutely amazing singer, and for all the crazyness, fun, and spice of this song, it's also a very complicated and nice-sounding one where she can truly flex her skills. 7:39 when this first came out, I’d been having ME!ME!ME! vibes only for Senchou to put an actual reference in the MV lmao. My mind was blown at that point and I knew then that Senchou was an absolute genius.
Oh boy. Here it is... and there you go! Marine loves dipping into the thirsty-pirate bit, but this is definitely the song she used the heaviest hand in considering some MEMEME references. It's fairly amusing that this song got played even in stuff in public locations. Going through the Japanese comments on the video is kind of hilarious when you have things like, "Yeah I heard senchou's moaning in the dental office. I'm a fan now." Might have seen it, but U.Z. INU in the lyrics/composition is reasonably well known to be a pseudonym for Toby Fox. Wild and just the kind of things that you see from Hololive now. It's so crazy. Once again pitching the best sheep Watame's "My Song" you wouldn't be disappointed. Anime level animation, beautiful, emotional, and an all-around great song about her history with music. It actually got used for the opening song on a TV program for a while. I'll shout it out forever on these videos. lol Also don't worry Watame doesn't have her ass hanging out anywhere.
For Ahoy the 5 minute version with subtitles is the best version to react to. On her channel there is only the less than 2 minute long version because the song never got a full music video for some reason. You can also find the 5 minute version on one of these automatically generated topic channels. Marine is probably my favorite Hololive member to listen to karaoke streams of. I feel like she shows off more of her singing range in those streams than in her official songs, but she's also always really enjoying herself during those streams. A song that she likes to sing a lot and where she uses more of her deeper singing voice is Sono Chi no Sadame. I really wish she would do a proper cover of that song.

Fun fact: Since 2+ years ago Marine had been memed on by the community for her less than stellar dancing skills (partially originating from that stream the "I'm horny" clip came from; she was sitting on the ground to catch her breath after just a couple dance steps). However, along with the release of this song she had a 3D live concert, in which she proved how much she has improved since then. The result was like day and night compared to where she was back then - prompting the community to do a full 180 in regards to her dancing skills. I'm proud of our horny captain for taking the two things she's been memed to death for, and turning them into her biggest strengths.
As she is my favourite, I have to recommend Haachama's 'Red Heart' and 'Infinity'. Both are really great, with the latter being really personal for her if you know about her vtuber career. Haachama has also done a lot of covers of English songs. She was living in Australia as a student when COVID broke out so she became very well versed in the language and gained an interest in western culture.

Marine is a very unique Hololive talent. She loves to tease others with lewd phrases and actions. The "I'm horny." clip has become one of the biggest in all of Hololive.. But Marine is also one of the most caring Hololive members, and will always try to help her friends any way she can. She also obviously has an amazing voice, and she's a very talented artist as well. She's an amazing entertainer. As for 'Ahoy!', I suggest the longer version. It's the full song. The one on her channel is cut short.
So Hololive has like the entire spectrum of Wholesome to Horny. Marine is (self-proclaimed in English mind you) horny, BUT still and IDOL!! of course. She in general does not have many songs but the ones she does have are absolutely shaped to extreme quality, not only in the music itself but as you could see also the MV. And while her young appearance and horny demeanor might fool you, one of the biggest memes is that she is actually old and with a destroyed back lol. She recently had an entire 3D concert in the aesthetic of the Japanese Showa Era which was really cool because of how creative it is.
Ya "Unison" must be the next song from her. She usually is "on character" but by far her style go into trance and electronic music in contrast of the usualy jpop.. Also thou she will be eternal 17 years she a very mature artist. She know what she sells and how to doit. Always classy and grounded.

Marine is an amazing and incredibly talented artist. She doesn't just have an amazing singing voice, but she's also a damn good artist (She does occasional drawing streams where she will draw one of her fellow Hololive members or whatever she feels like drawing). The one thing consistent about her originals is they are ALL totally different. And yeah, Marine's voice is very good for Jazz and she knows that quite well. For Suisei I'd recommend: "Saga Jihen" by Hoshimachi Suisei and the entire 3rd generation of Hololive (which does include Marine, as well as some others you haven't been introduced to yet). It's a VERY Jazzy song, so I'm sure you'll like it. Recommendations for Marine: "Ahoy!" (I'd recommend both because the lyric video is the complete song, but the short version on her channel has a really cool MV, she just didn't have the money to commission an MV for the entirety of the song, so she made a short Anime OP style version of the song for the MV). "Unison" - very different vibe to both "Ahoy!", and "I'm your Treasure Box". "Marine Set Sail" - This, much like "Ahoy!" can be an OP song for ANY action/adventure anime, and the fully animated MV is gorgeous (Marine broke the bank for that MV because she really wanted to make it special).

Ah, Marine. Once you look past all the fanservice, you'll find that she's incredibly talented. She can sing, dance, draw, play games, and is quite kind, insightful, and reliable. Regardless if she's streaming something or is a guest on someone else's stream, you _know_ you're in for a good time. She knows how she wants to play her character, and she owns the Hell out of it.

The composer is the same as the One Piece anime, which is noticeable in style. About recommendations. You wanted hear Calli's siging voice. "End of a life". Towa's *Pallete* (emotional) and *FACT* (more banger, drums, guitar etc). *Kiara - Do U* (pop music), *Fever Night* (retro pop music). *IRyS - Here Comes Hope* *Hakos Baelz - Play Dice* *KronII - Mafia* *Mumei - The Forgotten Song* - The timbre of Gura and Mumei intersect in some places, so they sometimes catch each other on the feeling that their speech sounds the same. I recommend to listen their karaoke duet (unofficial, fans combined in one) "Gura and Mumei sing - Put Your Records On"
I'm not kidding. This song was on rotation on a muzak service in Japan a few months ago, a service that many doctors, businesses, etc. hire to play some background music for waiting rooms and the such (company name is USen, iirc). This song literally exploded in number of views (I think it has the largest number of views of the last year, getting a sustained 1 to 2 million plays PER MONTH, which is absolutely BONKERS for a niche sector like vtuber music) thanks to it being played in so many places, people's ears (and other parts) perking up at the moans, asking Shazam what the hell was playing, finding about her and hey presto, now it is being played in LOTS of people's daily playlists. She got a large influx of subs thanks to it too.

For some context on the nun outfit: marine had a segment where she has a nun outfit on and asks various hololive members to confess their sins to her. It generally devolves quickly into absolute chaos, and often marine had done much worse "sins" than the member who's supposed to be confessing.

Don’t have much time due to writing this on a short break between work, but I saw this reaction on my main page and smiled. When you remove the visuals, for more reason than one, the song is actually pretty catchy and well written haha. This was a fun video to watch. was lots of tweets after this song about it being played on official radio, the same station that shopping malls and stores have playing in the background. was lots of people who got a good giggle when they know the song, but look at everyone around them blushing and confused at the moaning playing over the speakers while they are doing their everyday grocery shopping with their kids.
Marine's voice isn't natural as she has said on a stream. She had to take a break because her doctor told her that her pitching her voice to what we hear is actually harming her vocal cords. Despite being a lovable grandma giving us gifts like this song, she's still human(Ironically the only human in Gen 3/HoloFantasy) and has limits, but will always find ways around it.

I think the song plays really well to a part of Marine's character, in that she's down bad and is so thirsty that she comes onto her target way too strong and makes them uncomfortable. It's one of the things that makes her interactions with someone like Pekora entertaining to watch.
It's her schtick, and she pulls it off wonderfully.

It's interesting because Marine provides practically ALL of the melody by herself. It's mostly percussion.
odd thing is, I wasnt feeling that song when i first heard it but for some reason it stuck in my brain. I couldnt get it out of my head and listened to it multiple times.
Marine's songs are all pretty catchy tunes. 'Ahoy' is pretty iconic song of hers, which is why it is recommended a lot. 'Marine Shouko' would have more of her straight singing in it. Her other original song, Unison, is also quite good and in the unusual 'kawaiipop' genre.
As for Suisei songs, a good followup could be her cover of Saga Jihen (which also has Marine singing in it).

The best part about the entire MV is that the song is both a double entendre and in fact actually literal. Namely that Marine is in fact trapped in a literal box in the music video, and the raw horny sounds coming from the book results in whoever is approaching to back the hell away (if you notice, at the end of the MV the box actually has additional chains on it as if whoever found it NOPE'd the hell out of there).

This. We usually call them "Seiso" when they are mopre wholesome and pure, without getting spicy and throwign around dangerous words. And then there is this, when they are completely unhinged XD.
I thought that there would be no better way to introduce you to taht than with Marine herself, one of the most riske but also extremely wholesome artists out there, who also can do music of this level.

INU in the lyrics/composition is reasonably well known to be a pseudonym for Toby Fox. Wild and just the kind of things that you see from Hololive now. It's so crazy.
Once again pitching the best sheep Watame's "My Song" you wouldn't be disappointed. Anime level animation, beautiful, emotional, and an all-around great song about her history with music. It actually got used for the opening song on a TV program for a while. I'll shout it out forever on these videos. lol Also don't worry Watame doesn't have her ass hanging out anywhere.

For Ahoy the 5 minute version with subtitles is the best version to react to. On her channel there is only the less than 2 minute long version because the song never got a full music video for some reason. You can also find the 5 minute version on one of these automatically generated topic channels.
Marine is probably my favorite Hololive member to listen to karaoke streams of. I feel like she shows off more of her singing range in those streams than in her official songs, but she's also always really enjoying herself during those streams. A song that she likes to sing a lot and where she uses more of her deeper singing voice is Sono Chi no Sadame. I really wish she would do a proper cover of that song.

Fun fact:
Since 2+ years ago Marine had been memed on by the community for her less than stellar dancing skills (partially originating from that stream the "I'm horny" clip came from; she was sitting on the ground to catch her breath after just a couple dance steps).
However, along with the release of this song she had a 3D live concert, in which she proved how much she has improved since then. The result was like day and night compared to where she was back then - prompting the community to do a full 180 in regards to her dancing skills.
I'm proud of our horny captain for taking the two things she's been memed to death for, and turning them into her biggest strengths.

As she is my favourite, I have to recommend Haachama's 'Red Heart' and 'Infinity'. Both are really great, with the latter being really personal for her if you know about her vtuber career.
Haachama has also done a lot of covers of English songs. She was living in Australia as a student when COVID broke out so she became very well versed in the language and gained an interest in western culture.

But Marine is also one of the most caring Hololive members, and will always try to help her friends any way she can. She also obviously has an amazing voice, and she's a very talented artist as well. She's an amazing entertainer.
As for 'Ahoy!', I suggest the longer version. It's the full song. The one on her channel is cut short.

So Hololive has like the entire spectrum of Wholesome to Horny. Marine is (self-proclaimed in English mind you) horny, BUT still and IDOL!! of course. She in general does not have many songs but the ones she does have are absolutely shaped to extreme quality, not only in the music itself but as you could see also the MV. And while her young appearance and horny demeanor might fool you, one of the biggest memes is that she is actually old and with a destroyed back lol. She recently had an entire 3D concert in the aesthetic of the Japanese Showa Era which was really cool because of how creative it is.

Marine is an amazing and incredibly talented artist. She doesn't just have an amazing singing voice, but she's also a damn good artist (She does occasional drawing streams where she will draw one of her fellow Hololive members or whatever she feels like drawing).
The one thing consistent about her originals is they are ALL totally different.
And yeah, Marine's voice is very good for Jazz and she knows that quite well.

This song literally exploded in number of views (I think it has the largest number of views of the last year, getting a sustained 1 to 2 million plays PER MONTH, which is absolutely BONKERS for a niche sector like vtuber music) thanks to it being played in so many places, people's ears (and other parts) perking up at the moans, asking Shazam what the hell was playing, finding about her and hey presto, now it is being played in LOTS of people's daily playlists. She got a large influx of subs thanks to it too.

For some context on the nun outfit: marine had a segment where she has a nun outfit on and asks various hololive members to confess their sins to her. It generally devolves quickly into absolute chaos, and often marine had done much worse "sins" than the member who's supposed to be confessing.

i am subscribed to all the girls, just cause, although lately cant see barely any. but seeing your reaction made me feel nostalgic to her and jumped to her channel, something to watch and listen while i draw. clicked on her latest stream, and the waiting room has a song playing. neurons fired immediately, i remember the song, but not the tittle plus i cant read japanese. did a deeper search and dug it out, it was called "Unison".
if it was mentioned along ahoy and treasure box, ill place my coins on Unison for a next marine reaction down the line.
It's always a treasure to see people react to this song, for 'that' moment especially.
was lots of tweets after this song about it being played on official radio, the same station that shopping malls and stores have playing in the background. was lots of people who got a good giggle when they know the song, but look at everyone around them blushing and confused at the moaning playing over the speakers while they are doing their everyday grocery shopping with their kids.

Marine, along with Matsuri, Choco and Mel are probably the most risqué in Hololive.
Marine's voice isn't natural as she has said on a stream. She had to take a break because her doctor told her that her pitching her voice to what we hear is actually harming her vocal cords.
Despite being a lovable grandma giving us gifts like this song, she's still human(Ironically the only human in Gen 3/HoloFantasy) and has limits, but will always find ways around it.
