The song is the path Mirabel could have gone down if her family continued to ignore her desire to be treated like everyone else, having heard the stories from everyones angle and from Bruno that the fate of the magic rests in her decision to let it crumble or be its saviour, she chose to let it crumble. I still kinda wish the song ended with Bruno in the background with the expression of sadness and disbelief that he had the ability to stop it but was too sacred of his family to tell them there was a better path for Mirabel to have walked.
@@davidvaldezjr5546 Like I understand Disney is currently in a "woke" horrible remake phase but I feel they have potential to do like a Cinderella three moment here where they take the original story and throw a twist in time were the show goes a different path but ends in the same happily ever after for mental struggle can go many ways, the fight with Alma could have gone worse or it could have happened after Mirabel talked with more of the family before confronting Alma. Like yes Mirabel had solved the families hidden mental struggles but she still technically has allot of years of pain to recover from that a short talk is only going to bandage over not completely patch up.
Actually Mirabel does have a gift... She's the embodiment of the Candle/Miracle/Magic...., and since she's been pushed past her breaking point, she's taking BACK everything that the candle gave them. After all it's been shown in the movie that MIRABEL's emotions are what caused Casita to either crumble down or stand strong as she was blessed with the "gift" of embodiment when she came of age. Also notice how Casita doesn't do a DAMN thing to help them, when Mirabel RIGHTFULLY goes off on them, as it has probably tried to tell them what needed to be done to fix the rifts in the family in it's own way, but was ignored. So now it's allowing them to reap what they've sown, even at the cost of it's life.

Mirabel is the physical manifestation/form of the magic, that's why when she started to actually bond with her sisters the candle grew brighter in the movie as it was reflecting Mirabel's emotions, and as Mirabel was growing closer to her family and not feeling rejected by them the cracks in Casita started to mend and heal, as Casita was reflecting Mirabel's mental/emotional health.

This is just me but; Og. Mirabel + Hope = Fixing everything, giving support and hope to everyone and brings back the miracle. Then; Au Mirabel + Despair = Destroys the miracle, giving everyone their fears, revealing the dark side of each of them.
Pt.2: Just like in Bruno's vision, Mirabel have 2 prophecy, casita breaking = mirabel fell in despair and started to lose control of her anger, casita is fixed = mirabel never loses hope and fixed everything.
She did not get bruno's power though, this was after she visited bruno, heard everything about how he actually meant it, and she empathized with Bruno and became the 'villain in their fairytale'. Mirabel felt left out and miserable and she wanted to destroy the family and the candle so her family would feel what it's like to be and feel powerless.
I love how most of them claim to have no idea that Mirabel felt the way she did. What did they THINK they were doing to her when they treated her like crap & talked crap about her behind her back?
I view this mirabel AU as a monarch butterfly, might look nice and non-posionous on the outsidr but in reality it has deadly poison inside and whoever eats it gets sick or dies.
