thanks brian that is really nice of you to say -- no not really - doing this and the KNX videos was completely new for me and a lot of fun - but mainly that was because I think Sensei Enkamp and the other Nerds have great experience in guiding people through the minefield! Every clown needs a straight guy and all that! -
Thank you Mr Watts. It reminds me a bit of my time when i trained Wing Chun. Like the sensitivity training by Chi Sao, Lap Sao, Wu Sao etc. and beeing soft relaxed but resist and not tense. Very, very interesting. Especially because i am now starting Okinawa or Traditional Karate. The book that you have there is available where? I am asking because i am a German living in the Netherlands. Thank you for your time and attention.
Hi Jens - liking the crossover - the publisher has run out but I have about 9 left here which you cant order from my website and I can send from spain. www.fujianbaihe.com/lang/yong-chun/white-crane-kung-fu-book.html kind regards, martin
@@martinpaulwatts oh i see. Thank you very much for answering me and for the content you make. Well i am not so selfish to ask you to send it to me, because the sending must be very high from spain to the netherlands. Please to continue making content and being such a relaxed, yet informative person. With high respect, Shifu Watts and yours sincerely Jens Kunze
Chen Hong (陈弘) - the President of the China Yongchun White Crane Fist Research Association - pointed out that there are many technical similarities between Fujian Yongchun White Crane Fist and the Guangdong martial style known as Wing Chun Kune(咏春拳 - Yong Chun Quan). Actually a lot of people see Wing Chun as part of the crane style system, if they basically had isolated an snake crane form for self defense things would explain why the style had originally no weapon forms etc.
Hi Mark - this one: www.fujianbaihe.com/lang/yong-chun/white-crane-kung-fu-book.html - it is one I wrote as a an introduction for people interested in training in the style
Do you still practice Ba Shou? I still have your video and copy of hand positions explanation/ instructions. After all these years, I still have not made it to the "drink tea" step.
The old Ba shou sequence is not from our school - it was something I was playing with phasing the hands and footwork. Both our lineage and the Da Yu lineage have an 8 move sequence ( ours in 8 part hands and they also have 8 part hands but another sequence in White Crane Joints ). So - as an mind popping exercise is it a challenge -but not curriculum. BTW - could you send me copy - I dont have ! -
@@martinpaulwatts I would be happy to send it to you. I have uploaded it to my channel and have it as private and can add you to it via your email, or just send it to your email. I did not see your contact email on the website. I can set it to unlisted and put the link here also.
@@martinpaulwatts Yes, it's been a while. Now I want to give it a go again. I sent the file along with a pic of other files you may want if they have been lost.
Refreshing to hear a no nonsense approach to chinese martial arts 👍
Have you considered doing more videos? You have a great on screen attitude and demeanour

Great explanation of what ‘soft’ truly means here
Awesome video. Hopefully you continue to make more videos because you are very informative and on top of that, you have a charming personality.

Ah he put a Japanese guy on the video thumbnail that’s why I couldn’t find it. It still disappeared from his karate group feed tho
Crazy how hardcore kung fu guys get no recognition after literal decades
