I loved the tour of your beautiful garden, even the walls are beautiful. I live in England in a town called Newquay in Cornwall. It’s on the coast so doesn’t get quite as cold here as some parts of the uk. There are lots of I think cordylines or dracaenas in the gardens here that are very tall and some get big plumes of white flowers. They are nearly all just green. I’m not sure if the tall ones are ti trees but we do get houseplants that are called ti trees but usually grown indoors. They are often sold in souvenir shops as mini trunks with wax on the ends. You son is gorgeous and a real credit to you and your wife and I’m sure he’ll have a wonderful garden of his own one day. Thanks 😊
Interesting! We grew up in north Georgia (so much colder climate than Florida) - they sell Ti plants up there as house plants and to plant outside as annuals. We are lucky they grow year-round down here. I just looked up Newquay- it looks beautiful! And I noticed there is some surfing spots there as well :)
Our grassy lawn gets a bit spongey after storms and rain…we struggle growing much but lawn there due to that. One day we can get some more dirt, or make some swales to get the plants up out of the water
Thank you! Teddy and Brent put some time into researching all the different kinds we have! Many (most) were found on the curb on landscape pickup day:-)
Great video- and yes the Hawaiian green is something I've never seen for sale here in FL either at local or big box nurseries. I have several that I started back in 2013, originally from a couple logs I purchased at a souvenir store in Hawaii. It is odd that they're so common there (used for culinary purposes also) but non-existent here but I love the big green leaves and the fact that the leaves are much less prone to browning and looking ragged. I have see some solid, bright red varieties in Hawaii but have yet to discover those here. I have some that are all burgundy, or brighter red but variegated, but nothing that is a solid, nice bright red. Would love any pointers if you've run across any? They could be another variety as well I suppose that just look different in the Hawaiian climate.
Thanks for watching! The green Ti plants are so beautiful I totally agree. Very strange they don’t sell it in local nurseries-I love the spiraling shape of the leaves on that variety as well. The auntie Lou is a solid red and can be brighter in different types of light. And the red sister is variegated and can be ragged looking where we live also. We are always on the lookout for new varieties! A bright red one would be a score to find!
I would love to send you a photo of the Ti Plant that I purchased as a log at a store on Maui. All I know is that is is a solid green Ti Plant, I do not know the variety. It is 16 years old, indoors, 16x16x24 inch pot, stands 5 1/2 feet from soil to the top with a 1 1/2 inch stalk at the base and spirals as it leafs. It appears as if it could be a Hawaiian Green, but I am unsure. Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers from Canada.
Haha, pirates 😅. I get all my plants doing this.thays how i got my black magic. They were fat stalks cut it down to 8 stems. Less than a year and are doing great...i love how the leaves are big
It’s so fun sailing the seven seas in search of these free plants! Those Black Magic Ti plants we found were a prized treasure! Awesome you have been so lucky too! 🏴☠️ 🪄

Send a pic to islandsnhighlands@gmail.com- we'll see if we can help identify it!
Love that harlequin. Do you think they can hybridize with each other? Cross pollinate?
I do too. I've been thinking about this, Brent planted two together and we are going to try it!
Thank you for this vidéo and informations
I share on Facebook
Appreciate it- Thanks for stopping by!
Awesome video, love the spirit of children! I am at 11 varieties. I'm in Florida if you ever want to trade 👍 God bless.

@@IslandsnHighlands it's great when you get to a nursery and see the plants for sale and they're so expensive and you already got them for free.
Black Magic gets really, really big. The second Harlequin was a Kiwi, I think.
Thank you! Always learning about the different kinds of Ti plants! I had no idea how many of them there were until a couple years ago!
