Wow, no comments? Where is everybody? Nice trick with the foil. In the past I've used plain old aluminum tape intended for covering the peaks of metal shed roofs. It's a lot thinner than metal duct tape and you can find it in big rolls at hardware stores pretty cheap.
I didn't know it was possible for me to feel apprehension and nervous while someone else was building a model and drilling a small part. Great tip about the chrome spray paint.
I used the term "tang and clevis" for the first time in at least 20 years just a couple of days ago... and you described the attach points as a clevis... small world...
That's a great idea for this tricky part of this build. One of my landing pads ended up not working. I think I might have got some glue where I didn't want it.
I built this when it first was released and the few issues I had were The way the landing feet are not free moving. If you watch the show the landing feet were always a bit askew after takeoff. I rounded the bottom of the strut, and the area where it seats "Flush" on the landing pad/feet then pinned them. The compression springs provided, at least with the first batch of kits, were way too tight so I replaced them with the proper size.
Coming together good Boyd! That foil kicks the struts up nicely.
Very cool work. Really like that you are teaching as you go. Well done.
I consider these videos relaxation therapy...
I also occasionally get ideas and good "what NOT to do when painting" tips, too!
What I love about the eagle kit is there's no wrong way to paint it. Looks good no matter what.
Nice tip on the landing gear. Thanks for sharing

I doubt I'll be moving the model very much but I didn't want the landing gear to come apart over time so the little extra work is worth it.
@@TrekWorks It totally is! Wish I would have thought of it! Haha!
Great work on the landing gear Boyd. That foil tape looks really good may have to check that out.
Thanks Kenny, the foil tape is handy for a lot of things for modeling.
Great Tips
Another great tip. Is that tape thinner than the tape used in a/c units?
Yes it's very thin.

😉👍
Do you have a link for that dremel tool? Like the pistol look of it. I bet it works well in the hand than the traditional one.
It's called Genesis. Unfortunately, they are not being made anymore though they do still pop up on ebay and Amazon once in awhile.
